Cottage in Gated Community
Publié le 11 août 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat stay in Chinquapin cottage. All necessities of home provided in a quiet nature setting in Chinquapin where deer and rabbits roamed freely. Close enough to town, hiking and waterfalls for easy access to all your vacation and adventure needs.

Mountain Getaway
Publié le 16 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat house with convenient access to pickleball, dog park, driving range, putt-putt, and hiking trails. Quiet neighborhood community with easy access to the main road. Unique screened porch with TV and fireplace. Interior fireplace helped keep the house warm and cozy on chilly days. Beds were surprisingly comfortable. Provided a great opportunity for our family to unplug and get away from the daily grind.

It could have been better

Not well stocked, no soap for showers, pillows were very uncomfortable, no desk to work, outdoor patio was dirty, screen missing so bugs could come in and the heating system was very loud and blew so hard we had to turn it off to sleep, tried to turn fan down but couldn’t figure it out. Overall it wasn’t bad just needs to be improved to get 5 stars for the above reasons. Host was good and quick communication appreciated. Make these simple fixes and would upgrade the house a lot.

Early Christmas Getaway

It was quite magical, and the home was toasty and warm! The home is lovely and perfect for our needs. Our host is most accommodating!

Terrible Owner
Publié le 12 nov. 2023 sur HomeAway1.I would have NEVER found the property with directions provided. Directions were both incorrect and required GPS which wasn't available because of "No Signal" on both my and wife's phones (AT&T)
2.Advertised wood burning fireplace had no wood, starter or lighter. When contacted owner stated it wasn't provided. EXTREMELY challenging and inconvenient plus cost hundreds of dollars for two weeks of firewood, starter and lighter.
3. TV Rokus DID NOT Work! Owner stated he was 3 hours away and couldn't help. Purchased Sling subscription to watch TV's.
4. Gas fireplace remote was dead. Had to buy my own batteries.
5. House was dirty. Very poorly cleaned. Windows were grimy with spider webs.
6. Dryer quit working. Owner was unhelpful. After reading owner's manual discovered it wasn't vented and required emptying water reservoir. Then it worked fine. No "heads up" from the owner about this very unusual feature.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- Our guests have successfully used the directions to the property since we purchased it in 2018. We're sorry to hear you had issues finding the cottage. - While lighters are provided in the house, they can sometimes be moved or run out. To ensure convenience, we recommend guests purchase firewood at local stores or from nearby suppliers. We even provided some firewood when you contacted us about it. - The TVs do work, and we made efforts to assist you over the phone to resolve any issues. It was confirmed during our conversation that you eventually got them to work. - We apologize for the inconvenience regarding the batteries. Typically, we reimburse our guests when they need to purchase their own batteries, but you declined this offer. - Our cleaning partner takes great pride in maintaining the property and is always willing to assist if any issues arise.- The ventless dryer operates by "pulling" moisture from clothes and collects water in a reservoir, similar to cleaning a dryer lint trap. We have provided instructions with photos for our guests and guided you on how to operate it when you reached out.Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
