Great Mountain House

The house needs to be leveled and the bathtub is useless. No pressure on hot water. Spot on floor

A 1 star review is inappropriate based on the concerns above and VRBO rating system. We communicated well with this guest answering many questions in a timely manner and checking in on guest throughout her stay. There is some sloping at the back of the house which will actually be corrected this fall. Most all houses and buildings in downtown Glenwood have some sloping. We are also remodeling one bathroom this fall. We continue to invest in upgrades in our home that benefit guests! We will evaluate water pressure but, in 3 years of hosting guests this has not been brought to our attention. Nor have we noticed it when in the house ourselves. I’m not sure what spot on floor means?. House is cleaned thoroughly between guests by a housekeeper that we are very lucky to have.

Fantastic location

Although i understand that this is an old house and part of its charm, there are some structural things going on with the sloping and rickety flooring in the master bathroom. In addition, tiles are crumbling from the shower area with visible mold- so there are some sanitary concerns.
The property offers a cute porch to relax on, which our family thoroughly enjoyed talking and laughing on throughout our stay. However, visitors who stay here should know that there are cameras in this area that were periodically recording (green) light while hanging out. We felt that we were constantly being watched which was very unnerving. Overall a cute home, but this is surely not the first time owners have been told this and the property needs some upkeep.

This guests only communication with us was, “Thanks for a great stay!! We loved our time here.” we really appreciate direct communication if guests have any concerns so that we are able to communicate directly responses like the one below. We are constantly upgrading this home. We recently have updated all appliances , replaced flooring in the main living areas, and replaced the entire roof. Other updates in our plan include updates and renovations of both bathrooms and additional floor replacements. Upgrades to homes take time, logistics, finances, and contractors. We continue to work towards all our renovation goals! We have an aggressive timeline and work towards addressing all our guests concerns and improving our home for future guests. All homes and businesses in downtown Glenwood have some sloping in their floors. This is due to the age of most buildings in the core of Glenwood. All buildings go through structural inspections. Our home is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between every guest. We have a security camera outside. This is strictly for safety and protection of our home and guests. Security measures are very common for all homes. Things we did well with this guest are allow for early checkin with a request they had, communicated and answered all questions in a timely manner, offered 4th of July specific information for guests, set up a grill at the home for them to use because we knew they were interested in grilling. We do our best to go above and beyond for every guest we encounter.

Amazing Location!

Publié le 22 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayI loved my stay here. Everything I needed in the home was there. There was lots of casual spaces for me to read while I was there. Walking into town was very easy too. The directions for the check-in and checkout process for very clear. I have no complaints.

Location is great
Publié le 20 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayThe location is great, but the property and our stay were not the best. The owner seems to have some trouble using vrbo. I was sent confirmations that had the wrong date and the wrong name for me. I was also sent emails that had the wrong check in code for the door lock. The owner needs to be more cognizant about when information goes out. Yes, I had also received information with the correct code, but I never thought that information sent within a couple days of each other would be different. That coupled with the wrong name for me and the wrong date for our stay makes me think that the owner is not using the website properly. To top it off, the owner never responded when we contacted them letting them know that we weren't able to get in. We finally got someone at vrbo to help and figure out that I had been given two different codes for the lock. The owner never checked in with us to make sure things were okay. I finally contacted her to let her know that we were in and the only time she checked in was near the end of our several day stay.
The house was not as clean as I would like a rental to be. Edges were dusty, the shower grout and caulking was moldy.
The house is in a bad physical state. The floors feel like they put flooring over holes and it feels like you're going to fall through when you walk in certain places. The bed in the master room was absolutely horrible and sags terribly. I still have a sore back from it after being home for several days.

Julie had trouble entering the home. This was due to us changing the codes (for guest privacy we change codes often). We sent her the correct code but, she did not see this at first. Recent updates to VRBO and Airbnb directly before Julie’s stay as well as some additional information we received from Airbnb and VRBO led to the confusion of information sent to Julie and our decision to change codes again before her stay. I clarified all confusing information with Julie immediately. She was able to enter home quickly once seeing the code we sent her directly through messages. we responded to Julie as soon as we saw this. She was able to enter home <1 hour from checkin. We do checkin on guests and we did check in on Julie multiple times during her stay. She did not respond to our checkin attempts and shared none of her above concerns with us during these check ins. We ask that when guests have concerns they share these with us directly so that we can improve our home for future guests. We truly appreciate messages with recommendations on how we can improve our home. The home is an older home and has older home quirks as do most homes in downtown Glenwood Springs. The home is professionally cleaned by an excellent housekeeper between each stay. She does an exceptional job cleaning and the far majority of guests think our home is well cleaned and comfortable. No previous guest has mentioned any of Julie’s other complaints. We have had guests tell us the bed is very comfortable . We will assess all of her concerns and as always work to improve our home for all future guests.

Comfortable and Convenient
Publié le 8 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a lovely time at this property. The house is very close to everything and was a nice walk to shops and restaurants. Not having a yard for the dogs was no problem at all because the neighborhood has tons of grass and so does the school just a block away. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything you could need.
