Have been staying at Castro’s every year since 2017. This year, the Staff was excellent as usual, especially Yago and Giselle. There are others who i didn't capture the names but as i said the staff have been excellent. However, the hotel can no longer be considered 5 stars as it’s sadly in need of major remodeling. I know that’s what they are in the process of doing, a floor every 2 years, i’m told, and the pool is currently being redone. The unremodeled floors have the same furniture and bathroom fixtures since i started to stay there. So about 7 years old at least. The bathroom shower/tub very sad and the bathroom sink handles didn’t work properly with the hot and cold taking many turns to completely shut off water. You can tell they are trying to economize by placing only limited linens (no robes and limited towels and single glass cup) in the bathroom.
So, i come because of the staff and loyalty to the hotel brand but will seriously consider other 5 star locations next year.
