Publié le 15 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is a gorgeous place. I think that Heaven will be very much like waking up to see those beautiful sparkling blue waves crashing into the white sand just outside our glass doors. I wish I could take that amazing view home with me!
The power went out on the island several times but the Purple Papaya has a back up generator, so that was not a problem.
The location is great. Good food right next door at Tippy’s(but slow service). Governor’s Harbour has shopping and restaurants too. We enjoyed several sunsets at the French Leave restaurant. Pascal’s restaurant is also a great choice!
Over all this is an exceptional place to relax and unwind and spend a few days on “island time” I have been wanting to come here for 5 years and I’m so happy we finally made it. It was worth the wait!

Thank you for reviewing our property. We make it very clear to note on our listing, policy, website, and welcome e mail how Eleuthera is as a secluded island, that it is a remote area. Therefore, we think your review of 3 stars is unfair since we are beyond transparent with how remote the island is. I wish you reached out to us prior to booking with any questions you may have had. Given it being remote that is not our issue as it is an island issue and really is not a fair rating. Personally, the seclusion of the island is beautiful, and untouchable.

Heaven on earth!

It sits on a the most gorgeous beach, easy drive to Governors Harbor, and adjacent to Tippy’s restaurant. The house is as advertised: clean, neat, and modern – with a priceless view. I highly recommend the house and host!

Relaxing Paradise

We explored the entire island, but the beach and snorkeling right off of the property were some of the best that we found. We would love to stay here again someday!!

Publié le 6 déc. 2022 sur HomeAwayThis property is awesome! My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was exactly what we needed. The pictures do not do it justice! We hardly even left the house because we had everything we needed and the best beach right outside our doors!
We did go to Tippy's for lunch every day...The food was great and the service was excellent . The house was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. Any questions we had, were answered right away and the check in process was great.
Tarictia was amazing and did everything to make our stay as care free as possible. I can't say enough good things about her or our stay here! We highly recommend this place and are already planning our next trip back .

The Ultimate R&R Vacation!
Publié le 25 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayWhat an amazing getaway! There are not enough words to describe the tranquility and peace this vacation brought to me and my husband. We barely left the house because it had everything we needed. The infinity pool was incredible and as we looked over the edge the ocean was just a few feet away. We walked the beach everyday and many times we were the only people on the beach. I know it sounds crazy but it is true, I can count on one hand how many people we saw the whole week. When we did leave the cottage, it was to eat out. Here are our recommendations... Da Perk - Marina makes the best french toast in the world! 1648 - Ask for Kelly, she is super sweet and attentive. Also, the beet salad is amazing!!! La Bougainvillea - Ask for Cristano, he was awesome and the food is incredible! Frigate's - they have the best cheeseburger and the view is beautiful. I am actually planning two trips back in 2023! A big thank you to Alissa and Carol for your gracious hospitality. Another big thank you to Tarictia and Neddy, we appreciate you both looking out for our every need. I miss you Purple Papaya...Anne & Russ

Backyard Paradise
Publié le 29 août 2022 sur HomeAwayOutstanding rental property. We travelled all over the island to find great snorkeling but some of the best was right off of our back deck (right behind Tippy's). Great sunsets and sunrises every day from the poolside. Prior to the trip, the owners were great about answering all of our questions as it was our first time in Eleuthera. We can't wait to get back to the Purple Papaya (or the larger house next door if we bring some friends.We would highly recommend this property!
