Lo mejor del lugar es su propietaria Theresa, si surge algo enseguida lo soluciona con su amabilidad, el lugar es seguro nadie toca nada. Si tu intención es recorrer toda la isla la ubicación es ideal dado que se encuentra en el centro.

This is a very cute property. It is in third floor, but the exact flavor of the area I was looking for. The lady managing it was quick to respond to my needs and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I do not recommend it if you are overweight or have mobility issues. Otherwise…it’s perfect! Ac works good, overhead fan, greet hot shower!

You get what you pay for

We stayed one night at this property. It would have been zero nights but we didn’t have another option for the night. Three flights of stairs was more than we could handle but the accommodations were horrible. This is a converted third story unit that is super-strange. The shower is on one side and the toilet on the other. The lighting is just weird. Can’t see in the mirror in the sink/toilet side because there is a dim light above the toilet. There is absolutely no place to store your clothes; no dresser or drawers exist. No counter space to prepare meals to cook and a fan or the tv does not work. The night was interrupted by locals fighting most of the night. We did not feel safe. The view is an old run down house on one side and a bunch of old containers on the other.

Ok, I will say up front that I really should not respond to this erroneous review because I can just say to check out all of the other reviews. But, I will say this to start. Denice's son who was on island in another house encouraged her to save some money and move in with him for her stay and she attempted to get her money back by lying about our suite. She did not even inform me that she had any issues whatsoever. When she first arrived, she was excited about the views.....yes you have spectacular views of the sunset on the water everyday. In fact, other tourist come to the water here everyday to watch the sunset. So I will attempt to address each complaint. 1. Yes she did have another option for the first night .....stay with her son. 2. There is one flight of stairs and three actual steps which get you to the first floor. If she had challenges taking the only flight of stairs I would have accommodated her on the first floor. It is a second storey , with one flight of stairs. 3.The lights are quite normal including the two table lamps on each side of the bed. The switches are interesting because I used to have my photo studio in the upper unit. 4. There are well lit mirrors throughout the unit to apply makeup etc. The bathroom mirror is for general use. 5. Yes the toilet and basin are in a separate space from the shower which is a plus for most folk who don't like the inconvenience of having to shower in the same space as the toilet which could have been recently moved. 6.There are no dressers taking up space unnecessarily but there is a closet with hangers and a very large space to rest your clothes on. 7. There is counter space to prepare a meal......suite style. 8. One ceiling fan did not work but the other one worked fine and a stand fan is there as well. The air-condition works fine and is able to cool the space very well . Most hotel suites only have air-conditioning. 9. There were no locals nearby because the nearest neighbour is about 300 feet away and they are a very quiet family. You can hardly hear any noises downstairs. 10. The old building is an historic lodge building which is over 300 years old and was built with limestone and rock. It would perhaps be restored one day. Yes we are located near the dock-side so on one side is the awesome sunset views and you will see some containers on the other side. It was a good idea for Denice to spend time with her son but not a good idea to lie about her accommodations with us. .

Stay at Suncrest House

Publié le 1 févr. 2020 sur HomeAway
Suncrest House is the perfect getaway if you are looking to be away from the typical tourist spots on Eleuthera. Beautiful water views, a walk to Governor's Harbour restaurants and markets, close to pink sand beaches and nightly sunsets from your apartment balcony. The owners, Theresa and Andrew Burrows are extremely accommodative and local residents over-the-top friendly. I would like to return. Ron Wedekindt, Buffalo, NY Jan. 2020

Andrew and Theresa were welcoming and very helpful. The property is centrally located, charming and the view is breathtaking. We had everything we needed for a great time. The mattresses for the bed and sofa bed need upgrading; but otherwise it was a wonderful trip. We would definitely visit again.

We enjoyed having Nicole and her family stay with us. As usual, we insist that our guests inform us of anything that may be of concern to them. Unfortunately the cleaner removed the topper from the firm mattress and forgot to put it back for Nicole’s visit . Anyway everything is back to normal including the sofa bed whose mattress is designed to be flexible. We welcome Nicole back anytime.

Visit to Paradise

Publié le 13 mars 2019 sur HomeAway
Such a glorious week in paradise! Thank you, Theresa for welcoming us to your beautiful island, and to Latoya for such a yummy breakfast and good conversation! Also thank you to Andrew for picking us up in North Eleuthera and for the historical perspective. The beaches, snorkeling, sunsets, and many restaurants - all were fabulous! Theresa, I will wear my brooch with such fond memories. We look forward to our return, and Theresa we look forward to welcoming you to New England! Can’t wait for you to add those burgers!

5 stars for Theresa, and her family, all of whom helped us enjoy our visit to Eleuthera; 4 stars for the accommodation which was lovely and complete with what you need but strange light controls all from the bathroom (renovated dark room!);, and 3 stars for location which is at a working dock.

Relaxing in E Lutra

Publié le 21 mai 2017 sur HomeAway
We returned to the Northeast a week ago after a truly relaxing 7 days in the Bahamas, based in Governors Harbour at 'Theresa's Place' (it is on the map as such!). During our stay we ventured well south on the island of Eleuthera, and north to both Spanish Wells and Harbour Island which are reached by short water taxi rides and so worth it. Governors Harbour is a very pretty and historical small town and Suncrest House is located on the tip of the scorpion tail (known as Cupid's Cay) that forms the harbour. We had water views on three sides and unobstructed magnificent sunsets. The location may not be as upscale as many on Harbour Island but the natural unpretentious charm very quickly grew on us and all necessities were just minutes away, including some of the most beautiful and virtually private beaches you will find anywhere. The general store is a time warp in itself stocking anything you could ever think of needing. Local restaurants such as The Buccaneer Club and Tippy's are a short drive from 'home.' The latter is located right above the beach and both atmosphere and the food are great. '1648' is also very good for a more sophisticated change and Da Perk is excellent for breakfast; go for the raspberry and white chocolate scones!!! The house is cute, well equipped and very clean and suited us perfectly. Right next door the owner of Suncrest has a small cafe and a tiny gift shop that is stuffed with an amazing selection of quality 'souvenirs.' The jewel in the crown of our experience was in fact Theresa herself. She knows everyone, her advice was invaluable, and we so enjoyed just shooting the breeze with her. Theresa epitomizes all that is so wonderful about the Bahamas, cheerful, friendly and down to earth. Long may our more than 40 years love affair with this Island nation continue.

Awesome house!

Great house in the perfect location for exploring the island. We were able to see the north and the south without a long drive to get back home. The harbor has great restaurants and plenty of things to do. The fish fry is a must. Very clean, and the kitchen was well stocked for preparing meals.
