We spent six nights in the East Wing of the Chateau. The photos were accurate, but the house feels a bit worn. The town of Grandcourt has only a bar - no bakery or restaurant, and the closest grocery is about 5 KM away, so we had to drive for everything. I had hoped it would be a good base for WWI touring (and had even specifically inquired about that) but all the real WWI sites were at least a 1-2 hour drive away. For a relaxing vacation without any sightseeing or touring, this would be a good place. The grounds are pretty and the pool was nice. However, as a base for touring the sites in the area, it was not terribly convenient. Still, Angela was quite responsive to the concerns we raised, and did her best to have the local contacts address issues we had.
