Beautiful, Fun House and Property
Publié le 21 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house was amazing. My kids loved the pool and basketball court in the garage. As soon as we walked in my 11 year old said he wanted to go back next year. Having the horses right outside made it extra special. 20 mins drive to Hershey. So much better going back to that house after a day of fun than to a hotel.

Great place with great surroundings
Publié le 11 août 2024 sur HomeAwayI would absolutely stay here again. Came with a group of 10 guys and we had a great time! The only thing that needs to be worked is VRBO’s descriptions of the bedrooms and what is in them. Because of this not everyone had their own bed as expected but we made it work! The owner was super responsive to every question and didn’t have any delay those responses! Thank you for a great time!

Horse ranch
Publié le 9 août 2024 sur HomeAwayinside house was clean but had problems with downstairs shower. Washer did not work, which we all planned on. We could have been informed of this but were not told until we arrived. Decks are DANGEROUS!!!!! My son foot \leg went through a deck board. Owner was sorry but never asked how his leg was!!! The weeds around house are terrible. Could not use back patio due to it being weed covered. Seeing the horses was nice.

Family Vacation

Family stay
Publié le 7 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis trip was for a family of 16. Communication was good. The owner answered any questions fairly quick. The pool, space and game room was great. The back and front decks both need some serious work, poison ivy was coming up through the deck, broken and weak boards. No warning on the fences about them being electric. The dumpster was FULL all week so we couldn’t place the trash anywhere after the outside cans were full. The showers/bathtubs need to be updated/fixed. There was no firewood for the outside fire ring as said there would be in the binder and the washer was broken. There was constant in and out traffic and I understand it’s a working farm but they should really watch for kids playing, they would come in and out too quick for my comfort, maybe having a second entrance would be good. The location was good though and the view was beautiful. Personally would not book for the price we paid it wasn’t worth it. I think this could be a better place to book if these issues were resolved.

Jamie, I apologize that you did not see the information about the fence being electric, the house does sit on a working horse farm and we do mention that in several places about the house. that is also a factor in the traffic at the barn we have several volunteers that come to the barn daily to take care of the horses.

Beautiful

We could not access the internet, the washer didn't work, they sent a repairman to check it out. But it wasn't repaired. The basement carpet was wet, so we couldn't really use it. We were not told about it, they had blowers going to dry it. We would stay there again.

Hi Amy, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the house. We have updated the router since your stay since there were some issues with the internet connection. After several failed repair attempts the washing machine has been replaced.

CAUTION: Don’t stay here: not as advertised!!
Publié le 8 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayUpon arrival, we quickly realized this house was a SECURITY and SAFETY nightmare, no working smoke detectors, electrical issues, inoperable windows and doors. Every door was open to enter, no key needed.
A “friend of the owner” entered the house unannounced after we checked in. She told us not to swim in the pool, for at least an hour, as she cleaned and added chemicals, which should’ve been done prior to our arrival. She also told us there was no air conditioning.
We could not open windows because they had no screens, broken screens or were NAILED shut, (owner was going to “look into it” but you can see in the pictures of the house provided, there are no screens.).
It was 83 degrees according to thermostat the entire time. Broken air conditioning units outside the home, blades were completely missing. This is not something that just happened.
When contacting the owner, she stated that she tried to let us know it was broken but her “cell service was bad”. She also tried to appease us by claiming fans were blowing, but all they did was push hot air around.
The property has no outside yard due to electrified horse fences all around and are not posted as such. Thankfully, a ranch volunteer warned us.
These are just a few of the issues we had. We contacted the owner and VRBO of the issues immediately. It’s a shame that VRBO has not removed this property to protect it’s renters. We paid too much money for an unsafe, sweaty stay (wish we could include pictures!)

Jennifer I do apologize that you did not have a nice stay at the house, however you do not mention that you stayed ALL weekend and utilized the pool and the house for the entire time you rented. If the house was that "unsafe" i would have assumed you would have left immediately.
First I would like to comment that the doors are locked always, unless there is someone in the house taking care of things, it was my understanding that the person that takes care of the pool was there when your friends arrived and that they got to the house before you so I am unclear on those statements about someone entering the house after you checked in. We are very respectful of people in the house and NEVER enter without ringing the doorbell.
The air conditioning has been fixed we finally received the part for the unit, it is out of my control that the unit broke and we had to order a part, unfortunately it took a little longer then we anticipated. If the house was such a nightmare why did you stay the entire weekend and utilized the pool area . I heard from you twice while you were there asking me about the air and we brought additional fans prior to your arrival and told you to open the windows, which you did not do. I came to the house right after you left and opened them all to allow air flow at the house I did apologize for the air conditioning breaking and waiting for parts, all things that were out of my control. I heard nothing from you about any other issues while you were staying.
Since you stayed at the property and used the amenities I am not sure how this review is fair. The listing is posted that we are on a horse farm and the information I send out to renters prior to arrival warns that the fence is electric, we would never not disclose this information to renters. I am still unclear how I am getting bashed by you for the house when you stayed the entire weekend. If all of these thins were true I would have thought you would not have stayed at all; however that is not the case. Again I will apologize for the air conditioning not working during your stay. Hope you have a great rest of your summer.
