Great place to stay
Publié le 8 déc. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe mainly needed the house for sleeping which was perfect. Beds were comfy and house was clean. The dining area is very small so would not have been ideal if we were cooking our family meals there. We did have breakfast and appreciated the oatmeal and coffee that was supplied.

4 1/2 hours late on check in, poor response from owner
Publié le 15 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayProperty- bunk bed room is in the basement - not ideal for parents with smaller children. Fenced yard is not attached to the house, it's separated by a yard, garage and driveway.
Our experience was damaged from the start. Despite getting 3 emails from VRBO in the days leading up to our stay, we arrived to check in at 4 pm, to find our door code didn't work. We drove in from Denver and on our trip I messaged the property to confirm that our door code was what I'd told him to set it too. He did not reply to that message. I tried calling at the door, no answer. I text him, to which he finally replied to after about 30 minutes of us standing at the door. He knew we were there because the doorbell was recording. The initial response was that "the home wasn't ready yet", at 4:23 pm. I asked when it would be as it was after 4pm. He responded that "a guest checked out today, but the cleaner wasn't scheduled. For some reason your booking didn't show up on our calendar". I politely responded that we drove all day, expecting our scheduled 4 pm check in. His reply was that the cleaners were on the way to prepare the home, it won't be ready until 7 or 7:30 pm, and the cleaners would allow me to "leave my stuff inside". I replied my concern is about my dogs, who have now been in the truck and will be for approx 12 hours if the house is ready at 7pm. I asked at 8:04 if it would be ready anytime soon? I was told it was ready then and that the previous guest didn't check out until 5 pm and thought their check out was tomorrow instead. Wait, what? So the reason for the late check in has changed?? He then had to have the cleaners come back to the house, after 9 pm to drop off additional towels. So we were not able to settle in until well after 9:30 pm, after starting our travels at 7 am. When I got the link to review the property, I messaged the property owner and explained the inconvenience this caused us, we not only spent 13 hours in a car, but missed a family event the night of check in. The response prompted my review. I was told that we caused him to have to pay extra for the cleaners, it caused him a disruption in his life, and it was essentially intended to make us feel bad for expecting to be able to check in on time, per the contract and agreement. We were not able to and to be blamed for his problems was more than disheartening. This is a terrible example of customer service. For this reason, we do not recommend this home.

Hi there, we're very sorry you had this experience. Unfortunately, the prior guests had not checked out and were confused by their checkout day. They thought they were checking out the next day. We reported them to VRBO and this caused this unfortunate snowball effect. The prior guests did not remove their items until 5:00pm. We did our best to accommodate your stay instead of canceling the reservation. This isn't the norm and this situation is a one-off since my other homes have only had 5 stars up until this point.
