Perfect location, but not ideal
Publié le 4 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property location is ideal in a small village close to the beach. Cleanliness in the bathrooms and kitchen was very good, however the living rooms had a doggy smell which was engrained into the furnishings.

Many thanks for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the location we have at Sea Holly.
Thank you for bringing the dog odour issue to my attention. We have never had this feedback before. Having looked into it, I found out the guest before you guys had a particularly smelly dog and didn't use the dog blanket we provide!! We also have a hose to wash the doggies after a day's running around but I assume this wasn't used! I am really sorry this had a negative impact on your stay.
To be absolutely sure no one else experiences this we have replaced the rug completely and will do another deep clean of the sofas. We will also provide extra sofa covers in case anyone else forgets to use the doggie blanket.

A fantastic stay overall!
Publié le 6 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a brilliant time staying in Owen’s house for a few nights. The house is very easy to find and the check in process was very easy with the use of a lockbox.
The house is very nicely decorated throughout and the living room was very cosy and well equipped for our group of four adults.
The location is great with a shop up the road, a lovely cafe/tea rooms and a pub literally outside the door!
The beach is truly a 5 minute walk away with the dogs absolutely loved and the hose outside made clean ups after the beach super easy.
There were some small touches in the house too which were very thoughtful such as the nightlights on the landing - making going to the loo in the night that bit safer - and the selection of board games.
The few things I have to note that were slightly disappointing is that the kettle was full of limescale, which is alway something I check coming from a hard water area myself. There was also a coffee machine but no pods provided and nowhere locally to get them from.
And the last small thing is that the windows didn’t open in the bedrooms. The house is clearly very well insulated so it got very very warm in the night despite our trip being at the end of September when the weather wasn’t overly warm.
All in all we had a great time!

We have put alot of time and effort into making Sea Holly a lovely place to stay, it's great that it's appreciated.
We will replace the kettle and start providing a few coffee pods to get people started from here on in.

Beautiful Thatched Cottage
Publié le 26 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe spent a lovely long weekend in this beautiful cottage. We were five adults and our dog and there was ample space for us all. The cottage was very well equipped and the location was perfect. A lovely pub just opposite, fish and chip shop round the corner, a well stocked shop and the beach barely minutes away. We will definitely return.

A Magical Stay

Winterton holiday

We stayed when it was very hot weather and unable to open the windows very much due to scaffolding.

Thanks for the review. I am sorry the scaffolding was still up for your stay – I realize this means you didn’t experience Sea Holly at it’s beautiful best.
It’s a shame you missed the email I sent you some weeks before your stay, explaining the situation. I would have been happy to discuss it at that stage and even waive any cancelation fees if you felt you didn’t want to stay as a result.
The good news is that scaffolding is all gone now and Sea Holly Cottage looks better than ever with a stunning new thatched roof!!

Excellent location for beach walks, very well equipped cottage and dog friendly. Only one small downside - the lounge seating; great presentation but furniture lacks comfort and not an area all 6/7 guest can all relax in together.
That being said, loved everything about the property (even though it was being re-thatched!)and would definitely revisit.

A lovely dog and people friendly place.
Publié le 18 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayHad a great week staying in this house. It's set up well with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The area has terrific dog walks, either across the countryside, the dunes or gorgeous beaches. In fact, the whole town seems to have dogs !

Lovely breakaway
