Avis Villa di Creta Heated Pool

View was amazing. A little hard to find the first time but worth it.

Arrived and the property was not as advertised. It was an apartment above a working farm but listed as a peaceful beach property. We also did my have the place to ourselves; the owners lived in the farmhouse portion and were all over the property. Dogs barking, farm equipment and messiness everywhere, yellow stains on the supposedly cleaned linens - in short, a disaster.

We highly recommend this place to stay. Beautiful view, very clean and we'll equipped appartement with extremely nice owners. Would definitely go back.

Our host was very friendly and helpful! the property was well supplied with towels, kitchen utensils and with a nice welcome basket of fruit, wine and local goods. I would certainly recommend this property to anybody looking for a nice property with a pool in the Chania area!

Great location for exploring western Crete. Comfy, with 2 recently updated bedrooms with ensuite and a large deck to enjoy the sun and spectacular view. Kristina & Dimitri were very welcoming and live on the property, but unit is completely private – we enjoyed the arrival gifts of locally-made Raki, honey and olive oil, and befriended Bella, their dog! Noise from the nearby highway is noticeable during quiet times, but we didn’t find it objectionable, and it is not an issue at night. Some additional inside seating and kitchen utensils/cutlery/cups etc. would be an improvement for 6 people, allowing less frequent use of dishwasher. The kids enjoyed the shallow paddling pool which was kept at 25 degrees or more, even though early April with air temperatures in 15C to 20C range. Not everything was open in early April and the ocean was still a little cool (18C?), but we found plenty to do, and particularly enjoyed visiting the old towns in Chania and Rethymno, where we had many excellent meals! We found driving on the main highway stressful because of the speed cameras and very poor speed signage (missing, faded, covered by overgrown vegetation) – you often cannot tell what the speed limit is when you encounter a camera! And if you drive below the limit, the locals are very pushy and expect you to drive on the shoulder to allow them to pass. An instruction sheet for the property, with information on access, Wi-Fi password and other info (such as hot water, which appears to be heated by solar, and so is not always very hot first thing in the morning (at least in April) – not an issue if you know - and with some local shopping, beaches, restaurant suggestions, although not essential, would be helpful. Overall, the property met our expectations and we really enjoyed our first holiday in Crete

Wir waren eine Woche im Oktober in der Villa. Es handelt sich nicht um eine Villa im üblichen Sinne sondern um ein Haus indem unten die Vermieter wohnen und oben die Mieter. Trotzdem ist man absolut für sich. Die Villa liegt ein bisschen außerhalb und bietet einen tollen Panoramablick. Die Terrasse und der Whirlpool laden zum Verweilen ein. Zur Begrüßung stand im Zimmer ein Korb mit Spezialitäten und eine Schale mit verschiedenen Früchten. Im Kühlschrank befanden sich mehrere Liter Wasser. Die Gastgeberin Christina spricht englisch und ist eine herzliche Gastgeberin. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und gepflegt. Ein Mal in der Woche kommt eine Putzfrau. Die Villa selber ist schön geschnitten, hat drei Schlafzimmer eine offene Wohnküche und ein kleines Badezimmer mit Dusche. Das Badezimmer und vor allem die Dusche sind allerdings schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, funktionieren aber einwandfrei. Leider stand nach jedem Toilettengang etwas Wasser vor der Toilette. Dies war auch durch mehrere Versuche durch den Vermieter nicht zu beheben, der von einer Verstopfung ausging. Wir vermuten allerdings, dass eine Leitung ein Leck hat. Die Ausstattung der Villa ist komplett, mit allem was man so zum Leben dort benötigt. Die Fenster und die Terrassentüren sind mit Insektenschutz ausgestattet. Im Wohnzimmer ist ein großer Fernseher mit Satellitendecoder. Allerdings sind keine deutschen Sender zu empfangen. Das Internet wird über WLAN bereitgestellt und ist außergewöhnlich gut! Außerhalb auf der Terrasse befindet sich noch eine weitere Dusche und ein großer Steingrill. Das einzige was uns etwas gestört hat war die Hauptstraße, die man deutlich hört wenn man auf der Terrasse sitzt oder die Fenster geöffnet hat. Wir haben uns dort trotzdem sehr wohl gefühlt und würden auf jeden Fall dorthin zurückkommen. Vielen Dank Christina!

We (4 young Adults) had an amazing time at this object. We would really recommend to stay.

The villa is located up the hill overlooking the sea with amazing views over the sea and the mountains. It is so stunning and breathtaking that you simply can't stop gazing at it. The villa itself is spacious, clean, lots of natural light, big windows overlooking the (sea)view, and a lovely huge sunny balcony (sun from sunrise to 5 pm in the summer months) with outdoor furniture which is great to relax, or have dinner. The swimming pool is a great retreat after a long day at the beach to cool down. The villa is spacious, very big living area+kitchen and has 3 bedrooms, each with air conditioner and with lots of closet space and 1 single bathroom with a good shower and a washing machine. There's also an excellent Wifi connection, which was super important for us, as we needed to work sometimes during our stay. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook your own meal. There's an outdoor BBQ facilities which we used almost daily. So great to get your fresh fish from a shop nearby and grill it in the evening for dinner while overlooking the stunning views. Sunsets are particularly beautiful - the skies turn purple and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Christina and Dimitri were amazing hosts. Everything we needed was addressed immediately. They were kind and respectful and even though they live at the lower level you enjoy full privacy, as the villa is so big and arranged this way that you enter the villa using your own pathway. Christina has her own vegetables and fruit shop, 10 minutes drive from the villa - and the veggies there are so tasty. Much much better than the ones you get in the supermarket. The village of Kalyves which is where the villa is located has everything you need, good beach (try to Almy beach bar which is 3 minutes drive - very nice beach and restaurant), some restaurants and bars, a big 7 days supermarket, butcher, bakery, fish shop, gyms and some shops. The city of Chania is easily accessible in 20 minutes drive. The location was perfect for us - we were looking to be close by to a big city but enjoy the country side feeling of local Cretan village. Book it! You won't regret it. We can't wait to come back ourselves next time we visit the area!
