Tasty Waves cabin is located in Greenbush, Michigan, just 5 Miles South of Harrisville and 10 miles North of Oscoda. Decorated in a mix of log cabin and mid-century modern, whether you want to unplug and relax, have adventures in Northern Michigan or immerse yourself in the lake life, we have you covered. Enjoy the beach right off the screened-in back porch, hiking/biking, sight-seeing or lighthouse tours and golfing (90 holes nearby). The cabin is available year-round. Fall color tours are absolutely wonderful and Tasty Waves is in a perfect location to make it your home base for your travels. We have snowshoes and groomed cross-country ski trails nearby. Winter is great with radiant floor heating and a gas forced-air fireplace.

Great Week on the Lake!
This was a most enjoyable week in a beautiful log house on Lake Huron. There were six adults over 75 y.o. that enjoyed their time here and were very comfortable, which at our age we need to be. : ) Our hosts thought of everything. We had such a good experience that we booked a week for next year and look forward to another wonderful week on Lake Huron, God willing.

This house is definitely better than the pictures show. Everything was beautiful and Mike and Terry have thought out every detail for you to have a wonderful trip. We’ve had lots of good luck with rentals, but this was top of our list.

Perfect family getaway!
This was our second year at Tasty Waves and the whole family had the most enjoyable stay. The home is so charming and very clean and has all the essentials you could need. One Week at Tasty Waves is Never Enough!
Wow! I just read the review from the folks who stayed at this cabin the week before us and … “What they said!" We totally agree (except our point of reference is the Grand Traverse Bay area for the past 25 years). Best Michigan beach property we’ve ever vacationed at! This was our second year at the property, and every year there is something new to experience. This year we took advantage of the beach umbrellas for great shade on the beach. And then there’s the new fire circle surrounded by 8 chairs on the interior nook of the beach for late night gatherings under the stars. Even if you don’t actually light-up a fire out there, it’s still an awesome gathering place for sharing drinks & conversation illuminated by the Tasty Waves canoe backdrop. In front of the cabin, the additional landscaping looks great- my wife loves the new lighthouse! And thanks for putting up the new umbrella, table and chairs off the master bedroom — a nice place to write and send emails. Our daughter wanted me to make sure we mentioned the new mix of children’s books and book shelf you added. Our two year old grandson enjoyed looking through the books and playing with the wide range of beach toys stored in the shed. The one thing we missed this year was having our son & new daughter-in-law with us.They’ll be back with all of us next year and we're looking forward to challenging them to volleyball on the new light-up beach court you’ve added! Thanks so much for being such great hosts!

Best beach and lake bottom in Michigan!
Our family has been renting homes on the great lakes since the late 90’s including Torch Lake, Grand Traverse bay, Ludington, Harrisville, Caseville, Sand Pointe and Port Austin. This was our 3rd year in a row at this location. Year #4 will be booked soon! There is not a better property to be found. Beautiful sand from the patio all the way to the waterline. It doesn’t stop there. That same pristine sand extends out on the lake bottom as far as you could possibly touch bottom. Pure sand; no rocks or boulders. The water is pristine. I paddled out on the kayak until the depth was the length of a paddle, 9 feet. I could clearly see the bottom and it had the same ripples in the sandy bottom that could be found at the waterline and all the way in between. In the beach “shed”, you will find almost everything you need for the beach. Chairs, umbrella’s, floats, toys, life jackets, etc. I haven’t even mentioned the house yet. The beach is a 10 and the house matches. If the weather chases you inside, there are plenty of games and puzzles. Suffice it to say, the pictures, descriptions and other reviews under sell this place. I was remiss in last year's review. The host told me they had added a whole house generator. I thought to myself, “so what”. However, an afternoon thunderstorm came through and knocked out power for about 12 hours. For everyone else! We enjoyed uninterrupted power and a very dark shoreline. It was beautiful! This place gets 10 stars!

Best vacation rental home we have ever done!!
Best property!!! Even before we arrived we were reassured that any potential problems would be addressed. . Traveling with a child with different abilities has its stressors.. We had a level of comfort, that we would not have a problem. We were so relieved that there was distilled water since we blundered and forgot to bring ours for her CPAP machine our first night . .. The hosts are gracious, prompt, and considerate. When we arrived, everything was in order. With so many additional extras I don’t even know where to begin all the sunscreen extra beach towels, detergent, paper towels, napkins, paper plates, all the extras we normally bring we’re already there. Cooking for seven people requires a different size cookware and we had no trouble . A very, very pleasant surprise. They were even additional pads of paper over the near the games and entire coffee station in the kitchen with every way of making coffee imaginable. Extra camp chairs were so appreciated as we enjoyed the Oscoda outdoor concert. . Everything was easily accessible for us at tasty waves, including firewood, life jackets paddle boards and kayaks. We loved all the additional lighting outdoors Being Backyardigans fans , we lovinly renamed tasty waves “tiki Beach” We will for sure be coming back. We feel like we have found our special home in Oscoda, Michigan my childhood vacation spot for over 30 years Thank you so much!! to our amazing hosts mike and Terry your hospitality can’t be beat !!!

Stunning Lake Front Retreat
This is our fourth stay at Tasty Waves and we cherish the memories made at this beautiful home. Interior Home is beautifully designed with and appointed with everything you could need for time away. It is so nice not having to think of every little thing we may need while on vacation. While our youngest is now 5 and we do not need small child "perks", they are provided in the home and would be so helpful if we were back in that stage of life. We love the thoughtfulness of snacks/water/coffee/spices in the kitchen. Having books, games, blankets for lounging inside is wonderful. Exteriror You cannot beat the location. The view is spectacular and the outdoor living space could not be more perfect. The outdoor shed is appointed with everything needed for a great beach day. My children love playing with all of the sand toys. The kayaks and SUPs are a great way to spend the morning on calm lake waters. Ending the day sipping a drink while rocking on the porch chairs under the twinkle lights is a great way to unwind. Owners Staying at the Sanders property feels like staying with family. While they pretty much have thought of everything ahead of our stay, I am always met with prompt and kind communication if I need anything during our rental period. We look forward to our stays at Tasty Waves each year, and are already planning our next trip!

Paradise!
Tasty Waves is a beautiful home away from home. From the minute you pull up to the property you feel welcome! And then when you walk through the front door, WOW! A beautiful view to the lake is the first thing you notice. Then you notice the rest of the home which is so beautiful! It was stocked with everything you may need and then some. So many things for the water, boogie boards, kayaks, paddle boards, all kinds of toys for little ones, etc.The hosts thought of everything to make our stay wonderful. There are things to do in Alcona but we chose to just relax, swim, fish, play on or go for long walks on the beach, sit in the screened in porch or down by the fire in the evenings. The sunrise and sunsets were gorgeous! I can't say enough about how much we all loved it there. We will definitely vacation there again soon.

Perfect Getaway
Wonderful experience from beginning to end! The views are breathtaking and we enjoyed walking for miles on the beach each and every day. The cabin was stocked with everything you could possibly need during your stay, and the hosts were amazing. My husband and I visited in December and they went so far above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, that I could never thank them enough. Even decorating the home for Christmas when I mentioned it was my husband's favorite time of year. The personal touches were everywhere. It was truly the perfect getaway and we look forward to coming back over and over.

The pictures and description of this home on the site do not do justice to this jewel. The owners have thought of every last thing to make a stay at this property one you will remember for a very long time. We LOVED our stay at Tasty Waves! This property is incredibly clean and beautifully decorated - you can tell the owner put so much thought into all the little details of this home. We didn’t leave once for the duration of our stay because we didn’t want to waste any of the time we had to enjoy this beautiful property. Little touches like a basket of s’more supplies and snacks were a lovely surprise. The owner even left gifts for our children which was so incredibly kind and thoughtful! We ate all of our meals in and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. This home is great for children - there is a shed full of beach toys and a shelf inside the home with dozens of board games and puzzles. The list goes on and on! We can’t wait to return next summer.

You will not find a better sandy (rock free) beach and lake bottom in the state of Michigan. That's a big statement that I back up with years of vacationing along the great lakes. The house and amenities match the beach. You will have everything needed to enjoy the beach. Chairs, umbrellas, toys, kayaks, paddle boards and more. The house is fully equipped to match. The ultimate recommendation: We booked a 3rd year in a row! Our family is in unanimous agreement to return.

Vacation Bliss
While temperatures were flaring across much of the country, we enjoyed a slice of paradise with sunny, blue sky days in the high 70s and peaceful nights in the high 50s listening to the rolling waves of Lake Huron. Having spent 25 years of summer weeks on Lake Michigan, Tasty Waves was a welcome change with its perfect sandy beaches for long walks, building sand castles, working on tans while reading novels, and enjoying swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. The large, unique beach offers you the best of two experiences —- 1. a section set back shielded by beach grass and sand dunes where you feel like it’s just you, the waves, and the blue sky or 2. further down the feeling of the complete lakeshore extending miles in either direction watching other families and friends enjoying the lake experience. The beach shed is stocked with everything you need -all of it virtually new - beach toys, life jackets, beach chairs, paddle boards, kayaks, and even a second hammock. You really don’t have to bring anything of your own for the beach because they’ve thought of everything (they even have sun screen!). The pictures on the VRBO site speak well of the cabin’s mystique, but let me add a couple more surprises we found. First, a modern easily controllable a/c found in each bedroom for customizable comfort and sleep. And second, the outdoor string of timed lights at night cast an ideal zen-like tone for winding down the day. In short, we love the place and hope to return next year!

Amazing hosts, immaculate home, beautiful beach
We’ve stayed in a lot of places around the world and this trip certainly ranks at the top of our list. The pictures of this log cabin home and property do not do it justice, the real thing is so much better! It is the cleanest home we have ever rented for a vacation. Truly immaculate. The hosts have thought about every single detail, they are truly trying to make your stay amazing, not just collecting money for a rental. There is every way possible to make coffee, all the cookware you could imagine for a family, very nice outdoor grill, wonderfully stocked beach shed with life jackets, kayaks, paddle boards—just amazing. The water is clear blue and shallow enough for kids to enjoy. The hosts left some very thoughtful gift bags for our two toddler boys. We parked at Harrisville State Park, only a few miles away, and walked a trail that leads into town each morning to get a coffee and snack. Red Fork restaurant is within walking distance and very good. We will certainly be back!

This was our second stay at this property and we are already looking forward to the next! Being hosted by the Sanders' is like staying with family. Their communication ahead of, and during our stay was great. Their home is wonderfully appointed with so many special perks that makes this busy mom so thankful. Beach towels, sunscreen, snacks, water, games, beach and water toys - such a treat! The home is clean, beautifully decorated, and has a gorgeous lake view from a woodsy setting. Perhaps it was the time of year, but it felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. The kids loved playing on the beach and in the lake. The lake had a great sandy bottom with a sandbar not too far out. Along with it's perfect immediate location, it is situated perfectly in Michigan. We took day trips to explore nearby Thunder Bay and Mackinac Island. This continues to be our best rental property experience. We will be back.

Booked for a memorial weekend away. You never know what to expect renting however this place was excellent! The hosts are fabulous to work with, and are always available. The home is beautiful, a log cabin at its finest, from the moment you pull into the driveway you are excited to see what is inside. You walk through the front door and you immediately exhale, knowing you booked a good one here! Everything in the cabin is high end and beautifully done. We massively over packed for the trip, the hosts really over exceed expectations. The cabin has most things you will ever need, the hosts provided snacks, sun creams, bug sprays, bottled waters, every pot, pan, knife and utensil known to man. If you like coffee you are in for a treat, lots of coffee options provided. The surprises just keep coming as you are finding your way around the property. You walk out the back to a screened porch, then you walk out to a beautiful outdoor dining area with a large gas grill. You are seeing the lake and hearing the waves from this point. From the outdoor eating area you are immediately on the sand! You take a small walk towards the water and you first see a small fire pit area, fully stocked with wood, chairs and tables. To left you see a nice shed, this shed has all the toys you need for a great beach vacation! Hats off to the hosts, they provide an amazing experience. This was a highly rated property. The beach is all sand, the water is crystal clear. ❤️

We wanted to spend out new years away from our home for a change, and boy are we happy we did because this beautiful dream come true cottage/cabin/home made it well worth it. DO NOT MISS IT, promise you will enjoy it ad much as we did. Beach walks in January 1st help you start the year with a great perspective. We will be back.

Relaxing stay on Lake Huron
What a beautiful stay on Lake Huron! Ahead of our trip, Mike and Terry clearly communicated terms of the rental and check in procedures. They were incredibly responsive throughout our stay and very accommodating. Traveling solo with my young children, this beautiful cabin on the Lake was so well appointed that it felt like we were staying with family. It was very clean and everything felt like new. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The games, books, and outside toys were a wonderful bonus. All linens were clean and the bathrooms had plenty of towels/washcloths. The small additions provided by Mike and Terry were such a treat! My children were so excited for a s'mores night! My favorite part of the trip was cozying up in front of the fire and reading a book while my kids put together puzzles on the floor - all while taking in the breathtaking lake views. Don't miss the sunrise over the lake in the morning! We even got to witness a full blood orange moon rising over the lake in the evening. We are already planning our next trip! Thank you, Mike and Terry for such a great time!
