Run down and loud
Publié le 11 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayPlace is in a state of serious disrepair. Dock has been badly damaged for two years (as per owner) and still not fixed, yet not disclosed. If my children were younger it would have been a major safety issue. Safety bar in shower never secured. It detached (slid out of wall) when my wife (bad knee) put her weight on it and fell. This could have ended our vacation. Owner also aware of this issue and offered to fix it next week, AFTER our stay. Lastly, while not the fault if the owner, the next door neighbors are animals and leave their dog outside to howl throughout the night, every single night. Do not recommend. No AC, so the choice was to cook with the windows closed or listen to a very distressed dog.at 3am.

Perfect Vacation

Great week on the lake
Publié le 18 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis property has everything you would want for a week on Moosehead Lake and was perfect size for our family of four. Great location close to town, our week was full of boating, biking, and hiking. Owner was very helpful and responsive. Would certainly stay again.

Awesome lake views

The cabin was tastefully decorated and fully stocked from the kitchen, bathrooms, and basement including canoes, kayaks, and bikes. Only drawback was the neighbors and their dog, and an Unexpected backed-up sewer/plumbing issue. Location was great and would highly recommend!

Well appointed home

Would love to see some comfy Adirondack chairs to look out at the water next time. Deer came through the yard daily. Kids loved catching crawfish and a 3 lb bass right from the dock!

Beautiful Lake House

Pleasant stay in beautiful lake cabin!
Publié le 9 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayVery lovely cabin! Great place to stay and definitely would come back. The deck and dock are great places to hang out and take in the view and sunsets. Beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room to spread out for our group of 3, and it could have easily slept 5-6 people. Kitchen appliances, laundry and wifi all worked well. Kitchen has pretty much all of the essentials dishes and utensil wise. Not that we used them much, but we appreciated the TVs being setup and streaming services available, that's a rare thing compared to other VRBO's we've rented.
Couple very minor things we wished we knew ahead of time. The grill is charcoal, I think we assumed it would be gas. Bring your own shampoo and soap for the bathroom as the only provided was hand and dish soap. If you're planning on keeping a boat on the lake, there is a mooring in a deep spot, but there is a series of rocks just below the surface blocking access to the dock and the water at the dock is only about 12-18 inches deep. It's enough to launch a canoe or kayak (which they have downstairs), but not suited for a bigger boat.
There was a miscommunication with property management and the place was not clean upon our arrival, but the host and property manager got it sorted out in a few hours and gave a discount for our trouble.
Also, as described, there is no AC, but even on a couple warmer days it was a little warm but still pretty comfy with the ceiling fans.
