Very good

We booked the deluxe room and then was told there was no AC in it so upgraded to suite and paid extra.
When we went into the suite it smelled of mold really bad so we went back to the front desk to ask if we could have another room.
They put as back in the deluxe and didn't refund our money for the upgrade.
Fairly quiet for being right off the busy highway. Not a place that I would want to stay for vacation but it was acceptable for stop over. Good breakfast included.
Power went out 7 times at the hotel.
AC did not cool well. Only 1 toilet paper and 1 bottle of water was in the room and it was 3 of us for 2 nights. No mini fridge, no saftey box. Could not turn off porch's light and the curtains were not dark enough so room was bright while trying to sleep. Property is nice and food is good but in general too expensive for what we received.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Staff kept the rooms clean, however some of the rooms had excessive mold. The staff was also picky about toilet tissue and towels. Most importantly they were also picky about money, whether bills were wrinkled, but did not even have a money pen to check if the bills were real. There were just too many inconveniences that should have been overlooked by the hotel staff, especially because my family brought a lot of business to them for over a week.
No mini fridge. No safe. No hair dryer on request. Worked well for our day trip to Rainforest Adventures Braulio Carrillo though. A little porch off the room with no seating, which wasn’t very convenient. Maybe I was just unlucky but received undercooked ( raw in the middle) chicken and a snotty egg omelet at the restaurant which was off putting. Overall we were happy to pack up and leave.
Bathrooms have no ventilation or extractor. The room had some stains in the ceiling due to humidity, but overall it isn’t terrible and the location is very convenient
Beautiful hotel entry……tropical flora…..several varieties of birds. Checkin was very easy and fast…allowed us to checkin early. Room very spacious….sliding doors…..view of the front of the hotel….local traffic in the background. A path exists through the surrounding rain forest….our daily nature walks looking for local wildlife. The swimming pool is excellent. Complimentary breakfast buffet was very delicious and hefty….traditional dishes. I highly recommend this hotel…..simply don’t allow the nearby traffic noise to bother you….at nights…..those lories/big rigs are lit up….looks like a Christmas lights parade passing by.

We were excited to stay here when we booked the hotel. Upon arriving and using our room we were not over joyed with the conditions. Very plain, no hand bath towels, mold on the ceiling, the soap tray for the shower was on the ground in the shower, the front door had see through cracks to the outside, no refrigerator... again very, very plain for the money.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
This place is clearly working hard to have an upscale appearance, but is a little bit unusual, and doesn't quite live up to their upscale persona (thankfully - otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford it). The staff provide excellent customer service. One unusual thing is that they have a card switch slot on the wall that you put a card in so that the electricity or AC works or something. This was a first for me, but apparently it's more common in certain countries. Also, they have a rule that you can't bring any outside food or beverages into your room, only food from their restaurant. So if you have a special diet or a tight food budget, I don't think this would be the right place for you. Having said that, the pool looked very nice, but it was raining when I was there so I didn't use it. One major design flaw of their rooms is that it doesn't seem like the bathroom has any ventilation, so all the steam from the shower and smells from the toilet just drift into the room. Now, the things that makes this a worthwhile place to stay....1)It's a good pit stop on the way to or from the Caribbean side of the country, as rain and construction are common, making the trip longer and more stressful than you might think. 2) They have a very nice well maintained path along the river that is behind their hotel. It's a very nice little walk for viewing birds and lizards and whatnot.
First the reservation was not on their books. The lighting in the room was dim and there were several bulbs that were not working as well as the light fixtures full of dead bugs. When it was raining, the rain water would puddle in front of the room door and the circuit breaker to half of the room would trip multiple times throughout the day cutting the power to the AC, bathroom and entryway. The bed was old spring that were felt every time you would lie down. The only positive thing was the friendliness and attitude of the individual that was working in the restaurant area
