Incredible historic home, live like royalty!

Could feel the stories this building had experienced over the last century - amazing bedrooms, the 'great hall' (we called it) felt like staying in a grand resort hotel... except we had the entire hotel all to ourselves. Plenty of space to spread out, the 5 large bedrooms were perfect for our family getaway. Quiet, lovely neighborhood with a market 100m away and street food vendors on the park plaza next door every evening. Just a 20 minute walk to centro historico downtown Guadalajara, even a Walmart within half-mile in case you needed to shop for food/drink or anything else. Communication with the host was excellent, very hospitable and welcoming. Would absolutely stay again, highly recommend! You'd be challenged to find anything remotely like this house anywhere else in Guadalajara.

Fantastic place to stay

Fantastic artwork, and the caretaker José Angelo was very helpful (but not an English speaker). About 15 minutes walk to tourist sights and restaurants. Can be a bit noisy in the 2 rooms on the front of the house. Would definitely like to stay here again!

Publié le 8 nov. 2022 sur HomeAwayThis is a rather large nice house with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths and a pool. However, it could be outstanding with attention to the details. I wasn't aware that only 1 bedroom out of 5 had AC, other bedrooms had only a fan. The bedroom downstairs closest to the road is quite noisy at night and in the early morning. There was a rather strong odor of sewer gas in all of the bathrooms which was a surprise. The mattress of bedroom #2 upstairs was super stiff/hard and hurt my back. The towels and hand towels were air dried which made them rather stiff / hard. The owner was very accommodating and replied quickly to any requests but it would be great if he would invest in AC in the bedrooms or quieter fans. The upstairs bedrooms would be unusable in the heat of June to September even with fans. It's a beautiful property that could truly shine with attention to details.

Difficult guest that I did a lot for before and during stay. The smell was a temporary issue and many of these comments not accurate. As well as house consistently booked during summer months, I use it as well when it’s open.
The house is a great deal at less than $100 per room and it’s a spectacular property.

Close to everything

Guadalajara 1/2022

It's a very old home that has been renovated and it was like staying in a home from the 1800s (with modern updates) Very spacious kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces. It's in downtown Guadalajara minutes away from Tlaquepaque and Tonala. Taxi stand 1/2 block away. Angel and Andrea the property managers were very accommodating. We felt very safe being in the middle of downtown businesses. Everyone was very respectful. Thank you for sharing this historical house with us.

Beautiful and spacious!

We had a huge storm on the evening of our arrival and had a few inconveniences but thanks to Jose he was very attentive and came to our needs as fast as he could! The city streets where flooded but that didn't stop Jose! Thank you so much Jose for making us feel comfortable and safe! We will definitely bring our friends and family back!

We enjoyed the pool and the location was close to a taxi station, church, a nice Mercado and walking distance to a very good fish taco place called Fish Tacos La Paz. We enjoyed the convenience of having Angel - the groundskeeper - stock the fridge with a list of groceries we requested for a small fee as we were arriving late at at night. Angel was friendly and explained the history of the house to us. The owner messaged quickly and was very professional. We will definitely book again!

Impressive

The location is good, but Guadalajara is huge and traffic is such that it took 30 minutes plus to get anywhere in a car. The Mexicaltzingo Mercado ( 1/2 block away) was a wonderful place for finding fresh food and good breakfasts!

A Property that We'll Remember Forever
