The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly for first time visitors. They walked us to places in the neighborhood and supplied great personalized maps and information. The place was immaculate and beautiful. Overall, one of the best stays we have ever had in over 30 years of travel throughout the world. Highly recommend a stay of any length at La Perla!

After arriving on an unusually cold and rainy day for us in Guadalajara and having your scheduled walking tour canceled, we were happy to help with alternative plans. Later, during margaritas on the rooftop terrace and you told all of us about your day, we were all thrilled you had a wonderfully exciting day of discoveries and adventures, even if not the one you had originally scheduled. The two of you had the best attitude to make a quick substitute plan and to still enjoy your one full day in Guadalajara to the maximum! Your visit and wonderful attitude will always be treasured for us …as friends.

A great experience!
Publié le 24 janv. 2024 sur HotelsLa Perla is not only a wonderful boutique hotel, but it's much more! It's really an experience! Lorenzo, Guillermo and Antonio treat each guest as a member of the family, and the interaction with them, and other guests, is what makes the experience totally unique and special. They are warm, engaging hosts who quickly make you feel like friends. They are also very knowledgeable about Guadalajara and the surrounding area, and can offer very helpful hints (and personalized, hand drawn walking maps) of Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, Tonala’ or whatever. Every night everyone (remember, this is a very small hotel, so we’re talking about maybe one or two additional guests) meets up in the rooftop bar for Lorenzo’s frozen margaritas (or bring your own wine or drink of choice), and the hosts show an enthusiastic interest in what you did, and can provide a lot of perspective on what’s you share, from a local’s point of view. Breakfast is delightful, and again, everyone is in attendance, and the conversation is engaging and informative, and can help you plan your day’s activities, or just be fun repartee. Of course, if you prefer privacy or to do your own thing, you can choose to do that too. The hotel itself, from the entrance to the common areas, to the breakfast room, to the rooftop bar, to the rooms themselves, is extraordinarily tastefully decorated and feels more like a curated showcase, without feeling fragile, or like you have to walk on eggs. It's a complete experience!

Robert,What a joy to have the two of you as engaging guests. A common thread of the reviews about staying at La Perla is the art and joy of conversation. In this day of social media, taking time to visit and actually talk with people, getting to know them as friends, is missing in many people’s lives. The art and joy is as simple as taking time and taking an interest in others, which both of you do beautifully and gracefully with everyone. Our guests seek and find new experiences wherever they go; we enjoy helping them with our custom maps to make the experience even better. We feel successful that you felt La Perla was tasteful, casual, relaxing, and comfortable…not at all fragile. The reward of what we do is having guests like the two of you.

We are so pleased you chose us to help you celebrate your 40th anniversary. Our small intimate hotel is perfect for small celebrations like yours. If we would have known, we could have scheduled a Romantic Trio to serenade you from the sidewalk. When guests give us their email address, we can help with more information before they arrive to make their visit to Guadalajara truly special. Text messages through Expedia give all the necessary information but never any of the extras. Everyone enjoyed getting to know the two of you. Celebrating with friends always makes everything better!

As a landscape architect, we knew you would love the forest inside the city with its Japanese Garden. Taking the subway and then the elevated train to the area, just made an extra experience tailored special for you. Our custom discovery maps make these special adventures possible.

When you stay at La Perla, it feels like coming home. From the moment that your taxi drops you off in front of this beautiful hotel and staff greet with open arms, everything about their experience reinforced how much care has been put into making sure every guest feels welcome—even if only for a short time! The rooms are decorated beautifully yet still provide all modern amenities; there's always activities happening nearby or on site such as happy hour outdoors on the rooftop terrace. Serenity everywhere ~this place is magic!

We love hearing the word MAGIC to describe a guest’s stay with us. Since this was your first stay in a B&B, instead of a large hotel, at the end of your stay, we enjoyed hearing about your husband’s earlier trepidations, including if he would need to share a common bathroom? Even after he knew each room had a private bath, he was a little nervous about your choice. After we helped the two of you to pack your two night, three day stay with adventures and he said this was the most relaxing vacation he had ever had, we knew we were successful once again. We can hardly wait for the two of you to return.

La Perla was an amazing place to stay.
The hotel: The room was quiet at night, and I could also keep it cold with the air conditioning and dark with the window shutters. As a gay man, I chose this hotel as it is gay friendly and was not disappointed. The hotel is rumored to be haunted - and I do think a ghost turned on a light in my room while I was sleeping. I wasn't scared - but rather happy that I had a story to share at breakfast.
Speaking of breakfast: every morning was a continental breakfast with breads, jam, fruit, juice, eggs, water, and coffee. The conversation with the hosts and the other guests lingered some mornings and never felt rushed.
The hosts: They gave me as much privacy as I wanted but also were as engaged when I needed. Lars provided a wonderful walking tour which allowed me to see the centro and also feel immediately connected. Thanks to Lars and Guillermo I learned how locals eat lunch for 70 pesos, I learned about options for nightlife, I saw the Independence Day parade, I experienced a shopping mall, and much more. The hotel has a happy hour at the end of the day which again never felt rushed and was a great way to meet the other guests and compare daily activities. I felt like a long time friend of Lars and Guillermo. I loved the email notes received weekly before my trip which helped build my excitement about the trip!
Location: A short uber ride to other parts of town.

Every guest says they felt like they were with friends as soon as they have arrived. You were our friend before you arrived. Expedia reservations only receive our basic automated information. Your experience was better, because you replied to our request for your email address. All the extra helpful information we were able to send in advance, did make your adventure even better. We hope you return soon and choose Guadalajara to work from. After all, you already have friends here.

We have many guests like you, who live in Puerto Vallarta and visit Guadalajara to escape the heat and humidity of living at the ocean during the summer. Our mile high altitude gives us spring like weather almost year-round. Your adventure of moving to Puerto Vallarta will add more helpful information we share with our guests considering moving to Mexico.
