Amazing, idyllic stay
Publié le 10 juin 2024 sur HotelsJust arrived home from a four-night stay at Saragano. Fantastic team led by Paul ensured we had a brilliant stay. Views over the valley and hills are incredible. Food in Ceci is excellent. Will be recommending to family and friends. Thanks all!

The hotel is absolutely stunning. The rooms are incredible and the staff is kind, helpfull and professionnal. The chef Delfina is incredible, you will taste the best of Umbria with her. Pedro also made my stay remarkable.
Here is where I believe you should do better:
- You don’t have 24/7 service open (which is okay) but your in room service is very limited; you are a luxury hotel and you only offer instant nestcafe coffee. I have a room with the most beautifull view of Saragano and my only option option in the morning are very low quality coffee and tea….
- Breakfast is okay; very limited.
- Your website says you have bikes for rent at 45 euro; Great!! but it’s a company renting it for you 20 minutes drive from the hotel and they charge 80 euro to deliver it to the hotel…. so you should review your website. I also mentionned to the GM that I would rather ride a mountain bike rather than an E-bike and he said it was the only option in the area. Ceci restaurant was closed on Monday so I went to the hotel next door to make a reservation at their restaurant and they let me use one of their mountain bike for free even though I offered them to rent it for a fee…. I wouldn’t have mind renting a bike for a fee from your hotel, but driving 20 minutes to get one or pay 80 euro delivery fee?! Please don’t give false information on your website.
- You charged me for a bottle I returned; listed 2016 on your list; It was a 2019. Not okay

Dear Marie-PierThank you for taking the time to leave a review.I just want to take the time to address you points:1. you are correct that we do not have personnel coverage 24/7 but we are here from 8am until midnight every day (expect Mondays when we close for the evening dinner service). These hours have always been adequate for our guests' needs. We often have requests outside of these hours for late suppers, early breakfasts and these are always met to satisfy the needs of the guests - you just need to let us know what you need.I totally agree with you regarding the coffee and for the next season we will be supplying nespresso coffee machines in the rooms. We will also be adding bluetooth speakers to bring some music into he rooms too!Breakfast consists of greek yogurt, homebaked bread and croissants, homemade jam, homemade cake, homemade museli, fresh fruit, cheese and meats. We also offer extras such as smoothies and free range organic eggs. If you can suggest other items to add to this selection we will gladly inform the chef.We do not have our own in house bikes but we do use a local supplier. All our services and experiences are listed on the website and these can be arranged beforehand. When renting or organising things last minute this willof course incur inconvenience and in some cases higher charges. You are fortunate that you were able to borrow a bike from our neighbouring hotel - these bikes are exclusively for their guests only so that was good that they bent this rule. They also only have 8 bedrooms whereas we have 20. We cannot obviously house bikes for all here. Just to clarify I did not say that E bikes were the only option in the area but that they are a better option given all the steep hills in the area - most of the guests renting the bikes prefer this form of bike.We apologised for the error re the wine and this has been corrected with the suppller. We had a fantastic time at Aethos Saragano. We stayed for a week in one of the village rooms. The room was clean and comfortable and well kitted out. The restaurant, Ceci, is fantastic - we ate there four nights, and could have happily had done more. The view from the restaurant and terrace is amazing - rolling Umbrian countryside as far as the eye can see. There are lots of fun things to do in the area - wine tasting, village breaks, trips to the lake - though you will need a car. The hotel manager Paul and all the staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming, and made our time there relaxed and easy. We'd definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

This is one of the most amazing properties I've stayed at - the views of the countryside are just magnificent.The management and staff is just superb.

Manager Paul and entire staff were absolutely wonderful and conscientious to detail. They were also very friendly- I felt like family while I was there. The food was excellent and just beautifully presented.Loved it!!! Would go back again in a heartbeat!

Amazing hotel but would not recommend
Publié le 13 juin 2022 sur HotelsAmazing hotel but would not recommend as service needs to be improved. The hotel itself is beautiful, views are amazing, pool area was great, restaurant food & breakfast was delicious.
However, service is dismal. There's no daily housekeeping and in the 4 days we were there, we didn't get any fresh towels or bedding. When asking for a towel to take down to the pool, you are only permitted one. After lunch, your plates & cups are left out on the table for hours afterwards. There weren't enough sunbeds / parasols by the pool and there was lots of building work going on by the pool which disturbed the environment. There's no tea and coffee in the room. You have to go and ask for more toilet paper (after being left with 1 roll for 4 days). Massimo (the general manager) treats most requests as if they're disturbing his day and a lot of effort.
However, Carol and Anna who work on reception and the restaurant are amazing! If they fixed the service, this could be an absolutely amazing hotel!
