Paw Paw's place is an old style beach house just steps from the sugar white gulf sands of Ft Morgan. This third tier home has not changed much over the years but it still has everything you need to make your beach vacation perfect. With two bedrooms and two baths it sleeps four guests. While the rooms are small, the living is big! The wrap around porch offers a great gulf view from the back deck. (Perfect place to have your morning coffee and check out the waves.) If you want to take a swim you've only 120 ft to walk to be right on the beach. A full laundry is located in the master bath so you can keep up with all the beach towels and wet swim suits.
All of your linens for the kitchen, beds, and baths are furnished; just bring your favorite beach towels and swim suit. The kitchen is fully equipped and well stocked if you are eating in. If you want to grab dinner out Tacky Jack's 2 is less than a quarter mile away and Sassy Bass restaurant, store and pizza is only about a four mile drive.
If you are in for the evening have fun playing games or watching cable TV in the comfortable living room. There you will find a full size sofa, chair and Paw Paw's favorite recliner. Cook hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone on the park style charcoal grill down stairs and dine on the picnic table under the house.
Paw Paw's in very close to several great day excursions. Historic Ft Morgan is about a mile west. Enjoy exploring the Fort and its museum. You can also catch a ferry there that will take you over to Dauphin Island where you will find Ft Morgan's sister Ft Gaines. Kids will love the Estuarium, a hands on marine life kids museum.
If you travel east about 10 miles take a walk on the Pine Beach Trail in the Bon Secour National Wildlife Preserve or visit Gator Lake. You can launch a kayak in Little Lagoon about three more miles east of there.
If you can pull yourself away from the porch. go on up into Gulf Shores proper, a 20 mile drive; you will find tons of eateries, shops, a water park and many other beach attractions.

Great Stay For Quick Getaway

Communication with host was great. Thank you leaving us the basics (hand soap, dish soap, furniture covers for the dogs, beach towels, toilet paper, and paper towels). Everything was “clean”; however, place could use a deep cleaning. Price was decent for accommodations and for it being pet friendly. We will return and rent again. Place could use some upgrades. Locks need to be changed they are rusted and did not lock/unlock with ease

Perfect location!

This was a quick extension of a work trip for us. It was the perfect location, close to the beach. It maybe took 3 minutes and you could have your toes in the water. The house is as presented. It’s not luxury, but it is what you need if you plan to spend your time on the beach. The place was clean, however, I tripped over the living room rug and sand went everywhere. It’s the beach but probably could have been vacuumed another round. There is one bathroom with a slanted toilet/floor that frightened me at first but it proved to be secure. It’s just an older home that is definitely cozy enough to fully enjoy your time at the beach. The property manager was fantastic and super responsive. If you’re bringing your doggie, they offer a dog basket with blankets etc. we brought our own but still thought it was nice. Our dog hates the beach/sand but had plenty of other places to explore around the property. It’s a good place, even better location for a great value.

Great place! Close to the beach.

I will have to say, Fort Morgan, AL, is a great place to get away with family. Where we are staying at is away from the hustle and bustle of Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area, but close to everything you need. The beach was not crowded and only steps away. It's a small peninsular community that we would come back again. The house we rented is not big and beautiful like the others around it, but cozy and relaxing. Paw Paw's place is what they call it. Reminds me of a snowbird basic get away. The owners are hospitable and texted me on the way down saying everything was ready, the lights were on and if you need anything, just text or call day or night. We will be coming back again. Packing up and ready for the road trip back home tomorrow. Definite yearly booking.

Fun @ Paw Paw's Place

When looking at places to stay the description of the place was right on the penny. The place was very clean. The beds were very comfortable & the linens were crisp & clean. Paw Paw's Place is well stocked for everything you made need for cooking and eating. The location is perfect for the beach. The beach is just a few yards from the house. The only thing you need to bring for your stay is food & clothes. Also, there's a $ General Store a couple miles down the road that has quite a few groceries if you forgot anything. My 28 year old grandson was always commenting on how perfect Paw Paw's Place was for anyone who loves the beach. The house and the very short walk to the beach is an ideal place for anyone who is wanting a peaceful clean place to stay. My host Martha is an excellent hostess. The reservation & check in process was very smooth easy because of her. Paw Paw's Place is not frilly and fancy. It is cute. It's a place that is clean, comfortable and it makes you feel like you're at home on the beach. My grandson and I will definitely book Paw Paw's Place again. Thank you again Martha for pleasant trip and stay.

5 Paws Stay!!

We love this place!! Been staying here for about 4-5 years. Martha is very helpful and pleasant to talk with her. Would request one thing from the owners, to install a gate at the top of the stairs. This would be extremely helpful to parents of small children and family pets. ❤️😎

Perfect quick getaway

Quaint cottage with everything you need. Love the that the house and beach are dog friendly. The owners even left a couple dog bowls and treats for our puppy! There are a couple restaurants and stores for beverages very close. The best of all is the cottage is just steps to the beautiful beach. Wonderful!

Great location!

Loved this beach house! It really is just about 150 feet from the beach, one can see the ocean from the deck and the windows. It's comfortable and cute, and the deck is very nice, going around two sides of the house. It had the basics that we needed and I especially appreciate that dogs are allowed. I have a couple of suggestions to make it easier for those who arrive after dark. Please put a light bulb in or fix the porch light as it is difficult to see coming up the steps. I would also suggest changing the lock box as it is very awkward and also impossible to manage in the dark. Finally, for dog owners, it' a good idea to bring a gate to secure the deck. Thanks for a great stay!
