Todd, I'm very sorry you had a poor experience. When wanting to watch the TV there are many options when using a smart television. I personally gave you ideas on what to do and showed you how to access live TV. I also directed you where to get plenty of firewood. You have control over the hot tub temperature set at 99 and it was cleaned before you guys arrived and during your stay. Now how is it that you say your friends had no place to stay, when accommodations were made with my sister cabins only down the road?

Beautiful Location
Publié le 12 août 2024 sur HomeAwayCabin 5 is the one to choose. It is more private than the others. The privacy fence is a gift, and the back/hot tub view is picturesque. The AC was helpful on the sticky, hot, and humid days and even when it rained. Some of the amenities weren't as described. The lake is not a great kid swimming lake. It was hard to get to the water, and the dock didn't have a ladder, but my kids figured it out and swam like fish. They also caught fish. All of the boaters were very respectful and they enjoyed a go on the paddle boats. Ultimately, we needed to leave early and communicated through the app we wanted to check out. We could have used instructions on what was expected of us. We were ghosted. So we cleaned, swept, removed the trash, and stripped the beds. Hopefully, we don't get a bad review as clients. We did our best and enjoyed our short stay.

Rustic cabin
Publié le 22 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayIt was a great stay at this little cabin. Used the charcoal grill but with the weather didn’t get to take advantage of the hot tub or the lake. Wonderful spot.

Do not trust
Publié le 15 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWhen I arrived the first day I noticed the windows next to the front door had a crack in it, I assumed they already knew about it and because it didn’t affect my stay I didn’t mention it. After check out they are trying to charge me for the window. If you are going to stay here I highly recommend pictures or video of the entire place. Also they had given the door code to other people who actively put the code in and tried to entire the cabin I was in. I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

So I walked right to his cottage when he checked in ,never saw the damaged window, housekeeper who cleaned before he arrived never saw it until he checked out , previous guest who is a regular never mentioned it or saw it . Now this guy wants to play it off like he or his son didn’t damage the property. May I add that they were fighting upon arrival and the relationship seemed very rocky .. the last thing I want to do is charge someone for damage that they didn’t do . On another note, guests sometimes think they are in other cottages . The ones attempting to get inside Corey’s cottage didn’t have his code to his door and they were staying right next door . It was a situation that was handled very quickly when they realized the code to the door didn’t work and they called me. Every cottage does have a number on the front of each one, its kind of hard to miss but sometimes it is., which can cause confusion

Before we even left our home, I texted the owner and asked about bringing an electric motor and battery as the post on Expedia said these items would be furnished. The owner said we probably should bring a battery, which we did. However, we found on arrival that for the five cabins, there was only one non-leaking boat we could take out on the lake and the owner didn't have a working electric motor. (I noticed later in the week the info about specific items, such as motor and enough boats for each cabin, was missing from the Expedia/VRBO websites' postings.) It took several days and multiple texts to the owner before he brought us a working motor. Our reservation was for cabin 5, but we were placed in cabin 3 as there were issues with 5's pipes. This meant that we did not have two queen beds as promised; we had one queen in a bedroom and twin beds in the other. In the cabin itself, electric receptacles weren't screwed in properly and, as a result, would come out when things were unplugged. In one bedroom, a lamp's switch didn't work and only turned on or off when plugged in or out. There weren't enough towels for four people, so we had to text him about that. The refrigerator took over 24 hours to begin chilling items in it. The furnace didn't work until we texted him about the pilot light. Finally, the owner told us upon arrival that he owned the place for 15 days and man, he probably didn't know what he was getting into when he signed the mortgage papers.

Sadly some of the boats were broken- my kids were excited about kayaking but there were none.

Pretty view lakeside cottage
Publié le 3 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed our week at the cottage. Very pieceful and has a beautiful view of Big Shag Lake from cottage 5. Was the most private of the cottages. Having row boats and a paddle boat to use was great!! Short drive back into woods gps doesn't quite cooperate but we did find it.

VRBO From Hell
Publié le 2 janv. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe house smelled of gas. The furnace was rattling loudly and was duck taped to keep it together. It was only in the 50’s in the room during a snowstorm. The drawers in the kitchen were all broke and hard to open. The air conditioner was still in the window. We called and emailed the owner about our concerns and he didn’t contact us for 2 hours stranded in a snowstorm, 8 hours from home. After 2 days of emails he only gave us back $260 out of the $600 we paid. This place was not safe to stay at. It was the worst experience of our lives.
The cottages it should be condemned.

I went in there after they left and did not smell or find any trace of gas .I always remind the housekeepers to turn up the heat during cold weather . It’s a small cabin and heats up in no time, there is only duct tape at the bottom panel so the pilot is not exposed (magnets broke). The A/c is permanently attached to window. I received only one phone call and I happened to be dealing with something at the time of the call and got back to them late, which is not usual . My wife heard these people yelling and screaming at each other before they even got inside the cottage as we live on site. I gave them half of their money back as agreed by both parties. The rest was the taxes and fees collected by the booking agency that I have no power over . Overall , there is nothing a matter with this cottage other than the wall heater that will be replaced very soon .
