Perfectly adequate inexpensive hotel
Publié le 2 déc. 2015 sur Expedia
Pour : +Friendly staff
+Clean room
+Good food
Contre : -Early cleaning
-Lack of English (although we managed without)
Emplacement : Supermarket nearby. It is possible to walk to the peoples park 'nearby' which was an interesting walk. Not much nearby but there are many taxis!
As warned by other reviews the staff did not speak English but they were patient and I managed to check in without many problems despite my complete lack of Chinese. Room was very clean with facilities for making tea although no bottled water was provided. There is a small supermarket right next to the hotel which sold water, food, snacks, toiletries (and usefully umbrellas). There is nothing touristy in the neighbourhood but the location is very central and I used taxis to get to my conference and historical sights with ease. The free razor blades the hotel provided were unbelievably painful to use but I bought some from the shop next door. The hotel provides buffet style breakfast and evening meals which were really good! One last thought, the hotel is not a place for a lie in, I slept to 10 one morning and missed the chance to have my room being cleaned!

A real taste of Haikou
Publié le 9 nov. 2015 sur Expedia
Pour : See above -- but, in general, room price, room size, hotel location and staff
Contre : I could have done without the player-cards slipped under my room door about local "girls"
Emplacement : Close to shopping, the "old" revamped colonial part of town, parks, the beach and transportation. What you can't walk to, it's easy to get a taxi too.
Not only is Haikou an excellent jumping-off place for other places in Hainan, it's an treat in and of itself, and the hotel is located close enough to shopping, tourist spots and Haikou proper. The room is spacious and clean and EXTREMELY affordable, while the staff tries to accommodate as much as it can, even if the guest only speaks English

部屋は良いが、従業員の質が良くない。

Great to stay to see Haikou, close to 2 BOC moneyx
Publié le 9 sept. 2013 sur Expedia
Pour : Everything. Yes I did end up with a front room and yes it was noisy but I decided to embrace the experience instead of being bothered by it. Staff++
Contre : Well you would need to pay more if they had any more so all fine for me. Very happy and would definitely stay again.
Emplacement : There are tourist and historical sites but I just like to wander and see what comes up and who I meet along the way. Always great to make new friends
Bank of China is where you change foreign currency. Doesn't matter if you turn left or right at front of hotel, if you cross the road and keep walking you will find a BOC. Hotel staff very accommodating and speak little to moderate English. Need to speak slow. Breakfast tasty and affordable. Be adventurous. You may find a favourite food. I had friends to take me on the bus and taxi etc. but I'm sure that staff would give you the info if needed. It is helpful to print out any hotel name and address to get directions or give directions to taxi's etc. There are searches you can do on the internet to get these. Buses cost 1RMB for short distance and 2 RMB for longer trips within Haikou. It also costs 6.5RMB for the fast train to/from Haikou train station at the ferry terminal where you arrive if you travel by train from the mainland. Sometimes you need to wait 1 hour for the train. Fast trains run to schedule as far as I know but I have found long distance trains to be late in my 2 experiences.

economical hotel choice
Publié le 20 juin 2013 sur HotelsWith a daily rate of about RMB160 the hotel gave me a reasonable clean room & comfortable beds, free internet access. I also paid RMB 18 for breakfast buffet (congee, Chinese buns, fruits, etc.). Opposite to the hotel there is a supermarket. Next to the hotel there is a small road-side night market for food. So, it could be a bit noisy at late evening. There is bus stop near by. I did not find it too difficult to get taxi. In general I feel the operation is under staff and the hotel reception is small. I saw the hotel also served tour group. It could be very busy sometimes & you need to wait patiently. Majority the guests are Chinese. It could be difficult if you speak only other languages. Of course, I would not compare it with popular branded hotels, like Sheraton, Shangri La, etc. That is why I only rate it as 3 (2.5 if there is such choice) because that was what I paid for. Jinjiang hotel chain is reputable in China with many years of experience in the hotel industry. I still recalled my first patronage at its then 5-star hotel in Shanghai in the 1980s. In short the hotel is basic, simple & economical.

Emplacement : walking distance to some noodle shops
Clean rooms, no mildew smell. Good value, we arrived late from Meilan airport and needed a place to stay overnight before going to Boao, this was a fine place, basic amenities.
Staff was very helpful pointing out a restaurant just down the street for breakfast. They spoke basic English.
