Cute rental in Hakalau

beautiful cottage

beautiful yard with those tall palm trees! wish we had more time to spend on the Big Island!
Owner greeted us on arrival and also left us fresh fruit too!
The house is cozy and clean.
please leave your shoes outside as to not get the house dirty. only thing- if you come back in the evening, there are bugs, so close the door right away

So glad you enjoyed the Royal Palm trees and the cottage. We do leave bug spray inside the cottage should you need to use it during your stay. Tropical weather does bring mosquitos if there is no breeze. Mahalo.

Lovely and a little loud
Publié le 25 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe place is charming. The setting is beautiful and convenient for visiting the Hilo area. The fruit and banana bread are delicious. As advertised, there is a kennel on the property, and during our stay, the dogs (and frogs) were particularly loud during the night (new puppies). But Laurel kindly apologized, and the listing gives fair warning.

Thank you for your understanding. The country life does have its special sounds. The frogs liked the temperature! We had a new litter of 8 pups born the day before your check in. We have 3-4 litters a year. It was perfect timing. Lol. :0) Mahalo.

Beautiful Experience!
Publié le 12 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe were greeted with a tray of fruit that included a welcome note and some delicious food stuffs that made us feel welcomed & comforted right away!
The giant trees and greenery on the property makes you feel what it’s truly like to be in Hawaii.
The space is very clean, the rules/expectations are fair. I would recommend this location 10/10 to any of my loved ones.

Great Hosts and Serene Space & Dry Sauna!

My favorite parts include the aisle of tall palms, the sound of the rain, frogs, and birds at night, and of course enjoying the sauna.

Publié le 1 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed our stay at the Royal Palm Cottage to explore the wet side. Lots of activites, highlights include the fruit basket, bioreserve, carlsmith, Pauls Place, Papaaloa Country Store (pizza & music), rainfall at night, and the lovely gardens at the cottage.

Such a pleasure to meet a couple that appreciates the island life style and the weather changes that pass through. A little rain did not deter. Friendly, tidy and relaxed. Nice to meet a couple in touch with nature and appreciate the exotic fruits. Glad we were able to give a farm tour and have you pick rambuton, lilikoi and Mangosteen since they are in season. Fresh lilikoi added in yogurt is delicious!
