Amazing staff and location, comfortable
Publié le 26 janv. 2024 sur HotelsIt was an excellent stay. The staff and owner were super accomodating, couldnt have been nicer. Its super nice and comfy inside, with good facilities for drying gear and storing boards. The location being right next to the bus stop makes it one of the best locations in Hakuba. This is top choice accomodation if you want to snowboard in Hakuba.

Deceptive, dirty and dangerous. Avoid
Publié le 26 févr. 2023 sur HotelsThis is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in in Japan and a very disappointing stay. First, it looks nothing like the photos. It is undergoing a renovation that is half done and seems abandoned. Hazardous chemicals are stored in the hallways. (I have photos where a large container clearly marked as hazardous and flammable is being stored in the hallway). The high staircase out front has no guard rail and is unsafe. Parts of the floors are stripped and not finished. The interior staircase is stripped and unfinished. On top of that the hotel was not very clean. The bathrooms were not up to Japan standards. The ski storage room has trash about the floor. There was no soap in the bathroom and we had to request it. The staff was the only bright spot as they were kind and helpful. But otherwise this place is not safe and poor quality.

Hi Matt thank you for your review. We are aware of the buildings condition having been dumped by our builder, we hope for his return soon. This goes for the Tiler who was admitted to hospital. It hasn’t been the greatest time of late. I wander if you could try and be a little kinder to people instead of referring to me as deceptive. It’s a very nasty thing to say about someone that has fallen victim to unscrupulous tradesman. We are doing our very best to have all the repairs he left taken care of by other contractors. As far as having dangerous chemicals lying around, a can of paint hardly qualifies as a dangerous chemical and it is fully sealed. I have reminded staff to check soap levels daily and be more thorough with cleaning. Regarding showers, we know ours aren’t Japanese, they are very nice with white granite walls and individual rooms for guests to shower privately. It’s been our experience that guest love this and actually don’t like onsen baths in hotels. I hope your enjoyed Hakuba and can now appreciate that we are working hard to restore our 2 star budget hotel. In the future please try and be kind to business's you review.

Renovations currently underway
Publié le 2 févr. 2023 sur HotelsCouldn’t speak more highly off the staff - made our stay really enjoyable and were super accomodating. Good location and reasonable value. But the current condition of the hotel is nothing like the photos. We were completely surprised to find the renovations currently underway in the hotel. Then the associated inconveniences like issues with heating, plumbing, electricity and the flooring. Both my friends slipped / cut their foot on the stairs that are currently unfinished. Overall, still a very reasonable option but expect some inconvenience without any notice from the owner.

Thank you for your review and you have said it perfectly, our hotel is not how it should be. We have been left to operate in an unfinished state by a builder that took advantage of me. Were doing our best and the staff are trying extra hard to make sure guests have a nice time still. I heard Callum showed you some secret pow! I am devastated to have to operate the hotel in this state. if I had known we had been treated this way by our contractor I would not have opened, luckily I did rock bottom pricing that put us as the most affordable hotel around. Your room is less than a dorm bed per person quad share :) Please have your friends that were injured contact my direct through our website. I’d like to make contact with them and apologise directly.

This property was so convientiently located and comfortable to stay in. Thier contintental breakfast was above and beyond and i dont know how i am going to go back to reality without my daily crossiant. The beds were super comfy and had a bar that we could access whenever we wanted. The Valley snow buses stop right out the front so we didnt have to walk too far in our snowboarding gear. Jake, the owner, was super helpful and friendly. We have already booked in for 23/24 season.
