Great vacation
Publié le 28 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house was very nice and spacious. Plenty of sleeping space for our 5 adults. The house had tons of cleaning supplies, towels, and paper towels and toilet paper. Only a short drove to Arcadia and plenty of other sites including the water front within walking distance. Overall I would recommend to others especially if you have a larger family.

A Handy Retreat
Publié le 18 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe were happy overall with our stay at the Pine and Sea Beach Retreat. To be fair, we had to look outside of Bar Harbor as we booked late and there were no reasonable rentals left in or near town so my review is based for settling on a rental nearby. The house is off the beaten track but is easy enough to get to Bar Harbor/Acadia and a host of other attractions we otherwise would not have been aware of otherwise. The drive up and down Routes 1 & 3 did get wearing after a while but was tolerable. The house itself was spacious for a family of six, well stocked and accommodating. It does have a few quirks. One, the TV room is a sitting room off the kitchen that has only two chairs in it. Not very useful for a family of six. Two, there is no central air; there are only two window air conditioners. There is only one ceiling fan over the living room and one portable fan in one bedroom so keeping cool can be a challenge. We were out most of the day so this wasn't much of an issue but we were lucky in that the recent heat spell had broken and the mornings and evenings were cool. The pros of the house outweigh the quirks and location. The big plus is the pleasure of working with Susan and Simply Rentals USA; their communication and attentiveness was top-notch and so easy throughout our week at the house. They are one of the best groups to rent from on VRBO in my book and that went a long way in enjoying our time in Hancock. Thank you!

Relaxed Coastal Me Vacation.
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful stay in this home. It is close to everything but far enough away that you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere when you want to relax. We had plenty of room and everything was as advertised in the listing. Would stay again.

Wonderful location and space
Publié le 30 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe all loved the house. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The kitchen was a great size with everything we needed. The master bath is a dream. Tidal Falls Reserve is only 4 minutes away from the house and is a truly magical place. Momo’s Cheesecake and YU’s Takeout should not be missed.

Great stay
Publié le 27 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayAs advertised. Only thing I would suggest is to put screens is all windows. The bedroom didnt have screens in the windows and it would have been nice to open at night to get the fresh air.

Where’s the water
Publié le 21 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe place met our needs for sleeping/showers etc. Kitchen well equipped if you came to cook. Was disappointed there was no fire pit (does offer chiminea). Furniture is not very comfortable for TV watching.
Also when looking at the photos it appeared the water was closer than a mile or so away. Also was not expecting to have to take the trash to the road, strip beds, start laundry or make sure everything was wiped down. What was my cleaning fee for?
This is just my opinion but when I’m on vacation I want to be on vacation from everything.

If you look at the photos of the area, AND read the description of the property it does say that it is 1 mile from the beach. Carters beach is amazing, and we do hope you visited!
The checkout instructions are typical in a short term rental so that we can sanitize and get it back to pristine condition, while allowing a reasonable check out time and check in time for new guests. Your cleaning fee is not to clean up after your meals. We offered to take the trash to the road for you, and communicated a ton before, during and after your stay. We do hope that you find a better fit for your next vacation! Please read the description too!

And loved our time together around the fire pit in the back! Loved going for walks on the beach close by and the great places to eat were not far from the house either!

Acadia Vacation with Littles

We were able to go to the park in the morning and there was enough space to relax at the house in the afternoon away from the crowds. The house was comfortable and the property itself was spacious and quiet.

Hidden Gem

We traveled north to Canadian border and as far east as Bass Harbor from this location. Easy access to Bar Harbor as well. Already recommended home to friends wanting to visit the area. Susan was easy to communicate with. Very responsive. You won’t be disappointed!!
