Hen Stabl - A charming 18th century stone character stables conversion

Hen Stabl is an 18th century stone cottage located within the Snowdonia National Park. Originally the cottage was built as the stables to the parish house of Llanfair. Hen Stabl was saved from ruin and refurbished in the late 1990's by order of Snowdonia National Park due to it's significant historic interest to the village of Llanfair.

The living accommodation at Hen Stabl has been totally refurbished over the past eighteen months to include newly fitted kitchen and bathroom. The layout to Hen Stabl is quirky and on the ground floor you will find two bedrooms, and a bathroom leading from a large hallway. On the first floor is the living accommodation with its high vaulted ceiling, it’s a sociable open plan living space consisting of lounge, dining area and kitchen.

There is ample on road parking at the front of the cottage.

Hen Stabl stands in an enviable location for anyone wanting to explore the Snowdonia National Park, the stunning beaches of Harlech and Llandanwg are only a 10/15 minute walk from the front door. At the rear of the cottage there is a large garden with several seating areas which is shared with our second holiday cottage, Ty Golchi, there is a direct footpath approximately 50 meters from Hen Stabl leading to the hills and mountain range of Rhinog Fawr.

We had such a lovely stay at Hen Stabl. The location was perfect—peaceful and tucked away, but still really close to the beach, towns, restaurants, and plenty of things to do. Gorgeous property in North Wales

What an amazing find. Superb place to stay close to all the North Wales sights we had on our list! Property was beautifully clean, stylish, fully equipped and with a lovely huge garden. We have stayed in a lot of great Vrbo properties and this is one of our favourites.

18th Century Stunning Cottage

If I could give 10 stars I would. The Cottage was beautiful and the back garden was stunning. Even the neighbours cows enjoyed meeting us at the fence. Gary was very knowledgeable about the area. We loved staying there.

Home from Home!

The house is an old cottage which has been modernised to give an upstairs living area and downstairs sleeping which is perfect for affording views of the breathtaking surrounding area.The attention to detail within the home is gorgeous from the bedding and soft furnishings to the furniture placing and kitchen accessories, there is nothing additional we could have asked for.It enabled a totally restful break.The Harlech Deli and the view as you leave the house at the top of the road are things we will never tire of!We would recommend whole heartedly.

A wonderful place to relax!!If you’re looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Hen Sabl is the perfect spot.Tucked away in a peaceful location, it’s within walking distance to the beach and close to a village where you can get everything you need for a total chill-out in a cottage that’s equipped to the absolute highest standard, with a beautifully maintained garden. Honestly, you wouldn’t even need to leave—you could just soak in the calm, the silence, and the slow life that defines this place.For those seeking a bit more adventure, all the most beautiful sights of Snowdonia are within 30 minutes to 1.5 hours’ drive, but the views are so stunning that the journey flies by in a blink.We rarely return to the same accommodation twice, but the vibe here was so special that we’ll definitely be back. The hosts were very kind and helpful—they really went the extra mile to make sure we felt comfortable.When it comes to non-hotel stays, this one sets the new standard.

Great stay, thank you. Really easy checkin process and thank you so much for leaving us with some milk, coffee and snacks! So handy and much appreciated after a long journey. House is decorated beautifully with everything we needed and everything was spotlessly clean! A little bit disappointed that there was only enough hot water for one of us to have a shower each day, after one 5-10 minute shower there would be no hot water for a good few hours. Regarding the location, you need a car to get around to any shops etc as none within walking distance that we found. There was also no info on local area such as restaurant recommendations etc but we did find a lovely pub which served very good food the Victoria inn. Other than the above we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much!

We had such a great stay. Hen Stabl was exactly as it was said to be and more. Beautifully appointed with everything we needed waiting for us. Touches of home made our stay that much more comfortable - Gary even had a fully decorated Christmas tree in the living room for us :-)) Plenty of space for four of us with super comfy beds and lounge area. Relaxing by the log fire at the end of each day was just as we had imagined. We loved coming "home" after exploring the gorgeous area each day. We loved our visit to Wales and would happily come back to Hen Stabl.

Charming Stay in Harlech

We had a wonderful experience in this special rental. The host was so kind and space was perfect for us. We enjoyed the nearby town, castle, an Afternoon Tea in Port Meirion and a day trip up to Holyhead and Llandudno. Property was amazing, exactly as advertised, had everything you could possibly need. In great place for exploring countryside & within walking distance of 2 amazing clean sandy beaches . Would def go again, highly recommend. Owners friendly & very helpful, also own great deli in town.
