Not impressed - couldn't get in - stayed elsewhere
Publié le 14 mars 2024 sur HotelsI ended up not staying! On arrival (after a long journey, feeling wet and tired), I spent half an hour standing outside the front door, constantly ringing the phone number on the piece of paper stuck to the door! There was never any answer, and no answer machine, and I could hear the phone ringing inside the hotel, but could see no one. Eventually, a resident at the hotel kindly let me in the front door, and suggested I ring the emergency number, which was displayed on a wall inside. Again, there was no answer, and I left a message on the answer service. I also rang the contact number for the hotel given by hotels.com but again there was no answer, and I left a message. Just as I was about to leave, a cleaner turned up and kindly booked me in and took me to my room. The heating was not on so she said she would turn it on. By this point, I was late for a meeting, so had to leave quickly. I returned later in the evening to find the heating was not on, and knowing it would be impossible to find anyone to sort it out, as well as feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome in the hotel, I decided to leave and stay elsewhere. If they are going to have a system where you are going to have a phone number on the door to come in, they need to make sure the number works. The cleaner knew that the phone wasn't diverting to the correct number, so why wasn't an alternative number given? Not impressed. Waste of money.
