The one word that accurately sums up this place is "disappointing". The pictures were obviously taken with lighting that hid or obscured the poor condition the walls and parts of the house were in. The shower was so tiny that I had to use it hunched over almost 90 degrees. There were multiple sockets that were closed off with just duct tape, and the kitchen was in serious need of repainting.
While this wouldn't matter during the summer, the fact that there was no furnace heating came as a real surprise. Instead, the main floor was heated by a wood burning stove, and the upstairs rooms were all heated by space heaters. While they adequately did the job, safety reasons meant we came back to a freezing house every day, and it took time to heat everything up. We were also concerned that our 3 or 4 year old would knock over the space heaters and cause a fire. This is a very dangerous way to heat an apartment.
While the property did send us an email the night before with instructions for how to get in to the apartment, I never received a response when attempting to message the property directly. I sent an Expedia Message a week before we were due to arrive, and an email two days before, and they never replied.
Over all, I would not recommend this place. It sufficed since we didn't have other options, but the advertisement is much nicer than the place itself.
