In Remembrance of Theescha 9/28/78 - 10/25/22
Posted Oct. 6, 2024 on HomeAwayEnjoyed the location/condo, but cleanliness needs to improve. My dog would not give up wanting something under the couch, moved couch, old food like crumbs, chips, peanuts, etc & the amount of sand was ridiculous underneath! I tried to sweep as best I could with broom that was broke to a length of maybe 2 1/2 feet. Corners were sandy, & top of refrigerator was dirty. I did appreciate the quick response I received when I called for linens for the sofa bed. All in all our stay was what I needed. Love the area.

Enjoyed our stay
Posted Jun. 21, 2024 on HomeAwayOverall, we really enjoyed our stay at the property. The location was wonderful. Right on the beach and a short drive to restaurants/shops/ferry/etc. in Hatteras. The property itself was nice and updated. Loved that it was also pet-friendly. I just wish we could have gotten in earlier, as it was almost 6:00pm before we could finally get in.
We would stay here again.

Family Vacation
Posted Sep. 10, 2023 on HomeAwayWe absolutely loved staying in this condo. The place was very clean and the condo came equipped with a full kitchen. We loved the pool and the closeness to the beach! The only issue we had is the locker that came with our condo, where you can place your beach gear was being used by another renter.

Bed Bugs Issue
Posted Aug. 22, 2023 on HomeAwayThe host was not helpful at all once this was discovered. We were just told we would have to find a new place to go on the island or stay here for the rest of our trip. They did not offer us a different location or unit. Communication with them the day of and since, has been terrible. You can never get ahold of anyone or get a clear answer. I left voicemails sent emails that were left unreturned, and I had to sent a follow up call or email. I was only issued half a refund, I’m assuming because we stayed the remainder of the trip. We were told we would receive a refund for days we didn’t stay, if we had left the unit. Either way, we wanted a full refund, because we had no option. We were forced to stay in the unit with active bed bugs that could have migrated to where we were at in the unit. Who knows where else they were. Surf or Sound is not helpful, nor has your best interest or safety.

Justin, respectfully, we believe we were as helpful as we could be. The issue was not reported to us until Thursday of a Saturday-to-Saturday stay. We responded immediately, brought additional linens, and you were compensated for the inconvenience. Of course, we are all sympathetic to the disruption and disappointment that might stem from this kind of unexpected occurrence.

Much needed down time

Could Be Perfect
Posted Nov. 2, 2022 on HomeAwayThe property was very clean-- spotless except for the ceiling fan blades. It was tastefully decorated and not dated in decor. However, the furniture (except for the bed, which was WONDERFUL) was not comfortable or practical. There were tiny small round tables, nowhere to play a game or to sit and eat with some elbow room. There were lighting issues (the light in the fridge and the light above the stove were both out!)--the small table lamps provided limited light, not enough to read by. We ended up leaving early to go home because we missed our furniture, and the cost of meals/food on Hatteras was noticeably elevated from years past. We understand this given the current economy, but it did impact our decision to leave early. The view (and sound) of the beach was gorgeous. The condo is on the first floor, which means it's at dune height. Which means those pesky no-see-ums gnats were always around if you wanted to sit on the deck. Which of course, in a small place is basically an extra room. The convenience of being near fishing charters and the Okracoke ferry were why we chose this place, and that is the best thing about it! And the bed----between the mattress and the linens, it was HEAVEN. I think the bed must be new. It was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in a rental. Overall, I would give this condo a 3 out of 5. (Also the realty was super-nice and efficient, we would definitely work with them again.)
