Maintenance needs

There was black mold on the shower curtain and shower head. The shower drain was very slow. The shower driped continuoslyThe HVAC filter appeared to be very dirty.

Upon arrival there was a black bin with a yellow lid that said “Welcome package” that only appeared to have dirty towels in it, so we left it and the next morning it was gone. The exterior looked super dirty and not in any way up-kept. Immediately noticed there was no screen door, though all other cabanas had one. The screen over the one window was ripped nearly all the way off on the bottom edge. The toilet handle was basically ripped out of the toilet and you had to push it into the tank to actually flush. The shower curtains had either mold or soap residue on the interior, not cleaned properly. Bedding did not look washed, pillow cases looked yellowed, top blanket looked a little brown colored. Absolutely zero communication with the property manager, reached out to ask what kind of cooking supplies were available and she took forever to respond. My wife had reached out when the booking was reserved and never got a response. Reached out while we were in the cabana and never got a response. The listing itself was also very misleading by the photos posted. It says oceanfront, it is more of an ocean adjacent location. You can barely see the ocean from the top level and you definitely could not hear it at all. The interior was also much different than what was in the photos, but that’s not really any sort of big deal, but not at all what we expected. Overall, we had a very fun vacation, but the listing was very misleading.

Publié le 14 août 2024 sur HomeAwayFirst time using VRBO, heard horror stories from others regarding key pad to door not working to the location left dirty. This unit was perfect. You can’t come here though expecting it to be like staying in those huge 3 plus level houses. There is no washer and dryer. This was my family’s 14th year staying at the cabana’s, we typically utilize another rental agency but theirs were all booked for our week. Was very nervous to use VRBO, but our stay and the unit was perfect! Thank so much for the extra items too. Most do not have dish soap, dish rags, towels/wash clothes, and sheets supplied, this one did!! We plan our trip like if we are going camping, nothing is guaranteed in the units.

A little disappointing
Publié le 13 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe place itself was ok. Small, but enough room to move around. They are building 2 huge houses next door, so the construction noise was very loud. Sitting on the deck wasn’t relaxing. Be prepared that there is no laundry on-site. I contacted the owner twice through VRBO and never got a response! Once was about how to get the tv to work. We figured it out, but it was a little tricky. The location is nice. You can walk out to the beach but nothing in Hatteras is walkable. We probably won’t stay here again.

Quaint & Quiet

I definitely enjoyed myself, I thought it would be right on beach but location was perfect for a quick stroll! I did have an issue getting in, the instructions given was off but I figured it out after a few tries! Place looks better than picture with new paint job, new sofa, kitchen was perfect and had everything I needed to cook while I was there.
Recommendations: fix the lock on door, have to hold the door closed a certain amount to get the lock to engage, the door has rust on it didn’t want to touch it! Also the bathroom blind has rust on it, should probably change that.
I also had to sweep and mop when I first got there because there was a ton of sand on the floors.
Purchased a bathmat and left in shower because it needed one!!

Very disappointed
Publié le 24 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayOwner wouldn’t communicate and day of check in didn’t even know unit number! Then codes given wouldn’t work! Finally Michael called me and we got in. The place needs major renovations! We had to remove ac filter because it was so dirty-air wouldn’t circulate. Ran out of hot water every day! Proximity to beach is fabulous!

Property Management Company is a bust

We called and never received a return call even though you told us we were very important to you as we were on hold. I have stayed at several VRBO places and NEVER have I stayed at one where it lets you know what is supplied and you arrive to find it is not. The screen on the slider and the window need repair. There are nails and screws on the stairs that are dangerous. There is exactly one teaspoon available. We were left dishwashing detergent but still cannot find the dishwasher. There is no screen door. Towel rack on back of bathroom door needs repair as it keeps falling off. The hose on ground floor is great BUT no nozzle to turn it on. Toiletries supplied were listed but that was not true. Not one extra trash bag or tin foil or plastic bags NOT even a salt and pepper shaker. How does one use the oven WITHOUT a pot holder holder. Don’t even know if there is a working smoke detector which is against the law. Vacasa is a property management company how about managing instead of just collecting your fee.

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT COMPANY
Publié le 14 mai 2023 sur HomeAwayCode did not work at check in, took over an hour and a half to get in get house. Vacasa was no assistance. No towels as stated. Linens were dirty. Was told would have clean linens and towels on day two, none received, had to buy our own blankets. Work Never tent from vacasa again. Will be requesting a refund.
