Amazing location, let down on the house quality.
Publié le 11 août 2024 sur HomeAwayTLDR - House was the perfect size and location for our family of four but fell short on cleanliness and overall maintenance of the home.
We had a larger portion of our family staying in a big house on this street so finding this as an option to be next door was excellent. The size of the home was perfect for my us and our 2 kids and would have comfortably fit 2 families if the kids were okay to share the bunk room. It was easy to get up and over the dune right to the beach and the house was equipped with everything we needed including kitchen items (no spices though) and games.
The house was dirtier than we expected. Any kitchen items that hadn't recently been used needed washed out. The carpets had many stains and we felt a bit uncomfortable walking on them with no shoes. We ended up putting a blanket down to sit with the kids. The shower curtains were moldy. There were many flies and a couple of roaches (the outdoor kind just making their way in).
The windows and doors were all in need of repairs or replacement. Humidity was trapped in the glass. Many didn't close the whole way which was likely the source of the extra bugs. All other appliances and household systems worked well.
We got a good response from Vacasa for a speedy repair to the deck chairs and a sliding door to the deck that wouldn't open or close all the way but they said they would have someone come shampoo the carpet and never followed through on it.
Great location, good space, disappointing house.

That said, we apologize for any cleanliness details missed and areas you felt needed some TLC. Our local manager assured us that the carpet has been professionally cleaned and the home has had a thorough cleaning. Additionally, the windows and doors are scheduled to be replaced. We hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with a much-improved experience in the future.

Beautiful and peaceful week
Publié le 21 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had an awesome week at Hunter Haven! The beach decor was perfect! We had everything we needed and wanted. The king bed was roomy and comfy. The kitchen was well equipped. We were happy we could bring along our 2 little dogs Yogi and Clementine who had a great time. We found amazing shells and the weather was perfect. The food was delicious. I recommend Pelican gallery and gifts! Thanks for a wonderful vacation! Dawn and Scott

Publié le 1 mai 2022 sur HomeAwayThis was the best medicine for post winter blues! The house was so beautiful and clean! The kitchen was stocked better than my own home! The appliances were top notch. We really did not need to bring a thing! The decor was beautifully orchestrated with a beach theme. We loved having an outside shower to wash off beach sand and an outside fish filleting table for our numerous catches! Weather was ideal and fishing availability is numerous in the area. Hattaras is a quiet town which we desired. For those thinking of a town for a true quiet vacation, it has all you need. Red and White grocery store is within .9 miles and is well stocked. Bait stores, several restaurants, charter fishing, pier fishing, miles of beaches are all available. Kudos to your service and the landowner for the best vacation we had in years! We will return!

Smaller Rental Right on the Beach

The house has a great layout, good-sized rooms, tons of counter space in the kitchen, and comfortable seating in the living room. The proximity to the ocean can't be beat. I wish there were more of these smaller rentals in the OBX!

Hunter Haven
Publié le 17 août 2020 sur HomeAwaySpacuous, convenient to beach, nice location. Pet friendly. Very little horizon view. House very filthy with roaches, stains on bed, stains on floors snd furniture. Bring all essentials, no toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent. Broken items throughout home.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We apologize to hear that you've experienced this, and for our delayed response.
I took the time to research the home's work orders reported during your dates of stay. Unfortunately, I found no work orders made regarding your comments above. Hunter Haven is on a quarterly pest control schedule; and is treated if/when we have any additional reports. As you may know, due to the nature of our island and high humidity and/or rain; it will bring bugs out.
Typically our office does provide starter kits that include 1 roll of toilet paper for each bathroom, small bottle of dish soap. 1 trash bag per trash can, paper towels, and hand soap. Unfortunately, due to COVID19, these kits were not provided per regulations and guidelines.
We do hope you give Hatteras Realty another chance to Host your vacation, and contact our office immediately with any noticed damages and/or complaints for resolution.
