Locked up, cannot get in
Publié le 30 janv. 2018 sur ExpediaI arrived at the hotel about 7 pm. The hotel is locked, all the lights are off and no one answered the door or the phone. I have never experienced anything like tbis before. I demand a refund and an apology. Take the hotel conditions, etc. with a grain of salt. The form required all fields to be entered to make a submission.

Love staying Under One Roof
Publié le 7 mars 2017 sur ExpediaWe love the layout and the overall room. We love being able to stay in a house together with all of our family and friends. I wish it had a porch light we had to use flashlights to put a code in I also wish the refrigerator and freezer would have been empty. We had bought ice and ice cream and had no room to put it.

Disappointing at best, definitely misrepresented

Pour : Leaving...
Contre : See above -this was misrepresented in the Expedia information/ by the owner, who told us before arrival that this was the nicest place in 100 miles.
Emplacement : Dickson Mounds is a fascinating museum exploring the Mississippian peoples.
Emiquon Conservancy is a spectacular wildlife sanctuary.
Heading for Havana on a spontaneous visit to see Dickson Mounds, I turned to my trusty Expedia phone ap. Found a 4 star hotel called the Antler Creek Lodge, with a glowing description and blurry photo of lodging behind trees. Given the reviews and the price, I was excited to spend the night there. In actuality, this is a no "lodge", but a house that was so run down on the outside that we drove by 3 times, and checked with the owner as to the address (no address outside house). Our "free parking" was a barely visible gravel pad. We climbed up railroad tie steps to the front door. So glad we came while it was still light, or we might easily have stumbled carrying luggage on the loose gravel and with no railings. Noticed hanging wiring exposed outside the house. Seriously debated whether to eat the night's bill and drive elsewhere, but there aren't many option in Havana after dinner hour.
Inside was better, although musty smelling, with newer paint and pottery barn furnishings, but the light switches didn't work, there were shelves and drawers missing, and the mattress was old and squeaky. The refrigerator was filled with someone else's leftovers.
The owner is an absentee landlord in California, who did make sure a cleaning service came before we arrived.
I have had good luck with Expedia in the past, but now will be more careful to look for more than 4 reviews. My guess is that they were posted by friends, because our experiences were so extremely different.

great house rental for extra visitors
Publié le 27 sept. 2015 sur HotelsThis is a house that is a great rental for overflow house guests. We had too many family members in town for a wedding and this was perfect for that. Room for many more than we needed. Only thing was the hot water did get warm enough for showers, etc. Was lukewarm. Would definitely use this again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Wonderful house furnishings.
