It is pet friendly and lovely to see the animals out the window.
It was neat clean and tidy,but some maintenance requirements were quite visible.

Hot day no air conditioning , bugs
Publié le 24 févr. 2020 sur HotelsBeware ! It was a hot day when we arrived , no air conditioning . Nobody there to greet us. Open windows with bugs coming in , no window screens. No climate control or AC was very upsetting and uncomfortable . We left after 1 night, hard to sleep. Small shower in bathroom. We only stayed 1 night out of 2. I would hope for a refund of 1 night

Hi Andrew, thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us which disappoints us immensely. I'm sorry we weren't here on your arrival but your name was on our welcome board and your Cottage unlocked and ready for you. We most definitely DO have air-conditioning in every cottage the large unit is above the couch in the lounge! The shower is of a standard size in NZ and you are the first person to mention it in the 10 years we have owned the business. We live on site so are upset that you never came to see us with your issues. We had no idea that you had left as all the outside lights remained on and all the windows were open throughout the day. I went and closed them the second night as the heavens opened and everything inside was getting wet. We only wish that you had come and spoken to us and then I'm sure we could have made your stay more enjoyable. As you can see from other reviews, our guests have enjoyed their time at Cottages On St Andrews. Warmest regards

Amazing place for our holiday.
Most lovely thing is the owner do a little booklet by themselves to introduce attractive place nearby.
Hightly recommend to wine lovers, as the location is easy to go.

Great property set on quiet rural grounds. Very clean. Great for kids. Close to shops and restaurants. We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids who loved the pool, the animals and the toys/playground. We didn't feel like we had to be out sightseeing all the time as the kids were largely entertained at the accommodation. It was nice and safe so we didn't feel the need to supervise them at all times either. So it was lovely and relaxing for Mum and Dad! The hosts were lovely and very accommodating too.

The only thing that put us off was the welcoming on arrival was less than warm. Everything else was great. Fabulous for families; terrific, clean pool, wonderful farm animals, quiet, very close to a great restaurant "Off the tracks ". Would definitely recommend it. Very clean.

Not so good
Publié le 27 janv. 2019 sur HotelsI am not a fussy person, I have given 5 star reviews to 3 star properties IF I feel that they provide outstanding value for money. That is definitely not the case with this property however. We stayed in a 2 bedroom family cottage for 2 nights for $340 a night so I had reasonable expectations.
First the positives: The beds were comfortable so we slept well, the pool was great (being the middle of summer) and the setting was nice.
Now the negatives: For a "family" cottage, at that price, I would expect an oven, possibly a dishwasher (at least a dish drawer) and even a washing machine and clothes dryer. I stay in apartments all across NZ and the world and have these amenities in my room, for a lesser price than this. The shower head was filthy, caked in mold and clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. It was not a nice experience to shower under that! Then there were more minor gripes, like the saucepan handles being loose and felt unsafe to hold with hot liquid in them, the bedside lamps didn't appear to have switches on them (not obviously anyway). Upon checkout there was no one to be found to discuss these issues, let alone pay the account. I had to pay it online after I left the property.
For $340 a night I would not stay here again.

Hi Veronica and thank you for taking the time to review our property. We appreciate any feedback we get from our guests. We're glad you enjoyed the beds, pool and setting. I will now address your negatives: 1. Our 3 bdrm cottage has a full oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer etc but there isn't enough room in the 2 bdrm cottages for those added extras and they have never been asked for previously. 2. We have checked the shower head and it is NOT mould. Yes, I agree it was black in areas but that is from bore water minerals. We have replaced the shower head in case any other guests feel the same as you, so thank you. 3. Yes one of the 4 saucepan handles did need to be tightened a 1/4 of a turn to make it a tight fit. 4. The bedside lamp issue has astonished me as they are 'touch' lamps but upon inspection, neither of them worked, even though the light bulbs were working fine. I then tested our 2 'touch' lamps in our main house only to find they aren't working either. I am at a loss for words as to why 4 of them would stop working at the same time. These will all be replaced today with 'switch' lamps. We're sorry you don't think the $340 is value for money. They 2 bedroom cottages are priced for 4 guests = $85 person per night, whereby only 2 of you stayed in the cottage. We could have given you a 1 bedroom option for $250 per night or the Studio Unit for $175 per night. Once again, thank you for your feedback as it gives us the opportunity to fix any problems. Just what we wanted!
Publié le 16 févr. 2018 sur ExpediaI read reviews before I book and hope for the best. St Andrews Cottages was a lovely surprise. The cottage was clean, private, and self contained on a beautiful five acre property. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend these cottages!
