Awesome Stay
Publié le 5 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayCondo was very clean and maintained. The couch really needs to be replaced. You do sink into the couch when sitting on it. Everything else was absolutely awesome.

Publié le 2 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayIt’s was ok. The beach has washed away and there are large sandbags in its place but you don’t have to walk far for a decent beach. The people are friendly.

Royal Kahana

There was VERY LOUD construction work being done right outside our unit for more than one day. When we called to complain we were told that there was a statement on the VRBO site, telling us to expect construction work. Therefore they would not relocate us to another unit. We did not see a statement to that effect and our belief is that although the statement may be on the site now, it wasn't there three months before our trip, which was when we made the booking. Never did the property manager indicate that perhaps it was their failing. We were simply told we were at fault.

I am glad you liked the facility, I am very sorry that our response was not what you wanted, but you did say you were aware of the construction when you booked, you just didn't expect it to be that loud. It has been posted for 6 months and we did indicate that it was spalling repairs and heavy construction noise. We do not know what days are worse than others, but this is why we have the condo priced at the price point it is at. We did answer each and every phone call when you demanded a discount for the construction. We do our best to provide each and every guest with all of the facts when we have them, and post them accordingly. We hope overall you had a great time enjoying the beauty that Maui is.

When in Maui…
Publié le 15 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe Royal Kahana is my go to when I’m in Maui. The location is perfect as it is close to beaches, shopping centers, restaurants, grocery stores with a local vibe. The room itself was well kept and clean. Although the building was going through construction noise did not seem to bother as most of the time I was outdoors at the beach in front of the island. Unfortunately I arrived to no hot water for 3 nights. I sent the host a message and she responded right away unaware of the problem with little that she can do. The staff in the condominium were pleasant but also had no info on when the repair would occur given that the part was ordered from the main. I had to keep reminding myself that it is an island which can have limited resources on parts needed for the repairs. Overall I still love this building and would stay here again.

Construction ruined this review
Publié le 12 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayI absolutely would not recommend staying here while it's under construction. When I booked the listing didn't mention anything about it yet but from the hours of 10ish am-330ish pm it literally sounded like they were sanding the floor above us or jack hammering through the ceiling. We have a 1.5 year old who needed to nap and there were days during our stay that he wouldn't because it was so unbearably loud. I could barely have a conversation with my husband it was so loud.
The location is very central and it's nice having a private Lanai to enjoy the view. The property was pretty empty so the pool only ever had a few other people there. The beach access is not at the property so if that's necessary to you, find somewhere else. You can see the water and technically walk over the sandbag barricades to put your feet in the sand but it is not a safe area for kids to play or just enjoy the beach because the water comes up so high.
If we hadn't been there during construction I think my review would have been mostly positive but the construction really put a big damper on it. The only way I'd recommend this place right now is if you plan on never being in the room during the day. Mornings and evenings only, you would be fine because the construction was pretty consistently only for a few hours during the heart of the day (it just happened to be right at our kid's nap time).

Major construction was taking place on this building during our stay. In fact the construction had been going on for several months yet we were not notified ahead of time. The noise at times was unbearable with jackhammering of concrete right outside our entrance door. When confronted the property management company we used claimed they were unaware and blamed it on the owner for not notifying them. They acted like the victim. They did not offer us another location and suggested we find one on our own or accept a refund of $700. We spent over $7000 to stay there! Buyer beware!

Beautiful View

We even spotted some whales while sitting outside on the patio. Condo is part of a beautiful building and in close proximity to beaches. Condo is well decorated, comfy, and clean. Highly recommend staying here for your vacation!
