Amazing view

Amazing sunsets!
Publié le 29 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe really enjoyed our stay!! The sunsets viewed from the lanai were awesome! The bed was very comfortable, nice towels and fully equipped kitchen. We really appreciated being able to use the beach chairs and umbrella. This place was perfect for our needs.

Anniversary trip!

Honestly, the description and pictures don’t do it justice. We had an amazing time and are already planning our next trip!

Beautiful view, great location!
Publié le 24 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis ocean view property was amazing. We saw sea turtles swimming from our balcony and a beautiful rainbow over Molokai. The location was perfect for a short 5 min drive to amazing snorkeling at Nāpili Bay and Kapalua Bay. The condo was stocked with everything we needed, beach chairs and umbrella, boogie boards and towels. I highly recommend this property!

Bit dark and crammped

The unit was dark, veranda was almost unusable given how much heat the window style air conditioning unit pumped out into the space. No seating area inside for dinning option. Bath was remodeled but the heated mirror made the room to hot. To much 'clutter' around in an effort to make the unit user friendly. The listing advised that the unit was in a residential complex, and that there was no service or attendant at the pool. Ok, that's fine. What the listing did NOT state was that the pool was on the other side of the road, a bit of a hike from this ocean front unit, and that there was limited, if any, parking available near the pool.

I'm sorry your stay didn't go well. Most of what you comment about is clearly in the listing and the pictures. It's a 400 sf studio and the pictures are current, showing what's in the space. Between the ceiling fan and cross-breeze, it stays reasonably cool and the A/C cools it down rapidly if need be (one benefit of a 400 sf condo). So you don't need the A/C on all the time, especially if you're on the lanai. So I, and most guests, just turn it off when out there. The pool is 210 ft from the front door. It's a pretty short walk (the location of the pools is on the map in the photos section). In most condo complexes if you're 25 ft from the ocean, you're not as close to the pool as non-ocean front condos. But not every condo is for every person, so I'm sorry it didn't work out. I'm always available to ask questions before or after booking, so if there are things you require, it's always good to check in with the host beforehand.

Quiet and secluded - perfect view for sunsets
Publié le 27 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe rented a week for our 35th anniversary… and had a wonderful week. The beach areas are eroded away - so we drove to other beaches to snorkel. (Hint - go to the Sheraton in Valley your car… Take your stuff and go snorkeling at Black rock right there on the beach… Then when you’re done eat at the cliff diver bar… Get your ticket validated and your valet was free. If you don’t get it validated… It’s 50 bucks. Lunch ran us about 70 each time we did it… We thought that was a fair trade.). Parking was a little quirky… On some days someone would be parked there… Two hours later they’d be gone. We just parked in the guest spot and had our same parking pass. Overall… Very romantic. We really enjoyed the stay… The place is super clean and stocked full of Items… We kept even discovering things in. The mattress and the bed is very comfortable. Small but great little place for a couple in love.

Thanks Steve! I actually didn't know the Sheraton validated parking if you ate. Good to know! But there's also very limited free beach parking at the Sheraton and the Kanapali Beach Resort next door. But, yes Black Rock is fantastic for snorkeling and a great overall beach.

The ocean at your door
Publié le 9 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was our first time in Maui and it was excellent. The location is great. Walking distance to a few beach access areas and some restaurants (I am still thinking about the fresh caught sashimi we had from Miso Phat).
The unit has air conditioning, but we only turned it on once. It was not very hot during our stay so we opted to open some windows instead to create a cross breeze while we let the ocean waves lull us to sleep. Speaking of sleep, one of the reasons I chose this rental was because of Jim’s description of the mattress. I’ve stayed in enough vacation rentals with terrible mattresses to know how important a good mattress is for me and my husband’s middle aged bodies. We were not disappointed! It was a great mattress.
The kitchen is well equipped, as is the rest of the unit. The condo also has some beach equipment you can use. The folding chairs were great, and we brought them to all of the beaches we visited.
The view is the star of the show. We had some great sunrises and sunsets and we had a great view of Molokai and Lanai from the lanai. Yes, you’re really that close to the ocean!
For anyone wondering about driving to other area from Kahana, it took us about 40 minutes to get to Kihei and about an hour to get to Paia. For anyone considering the Road to Hana, we did a 10-12:30 reservation at Waiʻānapana State Park, left by 7am with only a few very quick stops along the way and made it there by 10:15. (So worth it).

Hi Beth, Glad you had a great time! Yeah, the mattress and pillows are the first thing I look for info about with any vacation rental. Good sleep is just so important for having a good vacation. Another option for sashimi next time you come to Maui is the Fish Market down the road a mile or so. Get a pound of fresh sushi grade ahi for $40, grab some soy sauce and wasabi and hang out on the lanai! Miso Phat is indeed excellent but the lanai has a better view. ;-)
