Oceanfront Cottage on a Quiet Cove Just Outside Lunenburg

Welcome to The Cottage on the Cove. This charming cottage has been completely renovated top to bottom in 2021. It is located right on the water on an in-shore inlet of the Atlantic ocean about 10 minutes from the town centre of Lunenburg. It has gorgeous water views from all of the main living areas. A new heat pump allows climate control (heat and air conditioning) for all weather conditions and guest preferences. The cottage can sleep six comfortably with two bedrooms (one queen, one double) and a queen-sized sofa bed in the living room. Linens are provided for all seasons and sleeping preferences (sheets, blankets, quilts & duvets). A full bath includes toilet, sink with vanity and tub/shower combo. Hair dryer & towels for the bath as well as beach towels for the shore are provided. The living room has ample seating with two sofas and two club chairs. An electric fireplace provides a nice ambiance for the occasional rainy evening. The entertainment system permits watching of DVDs (200+ provided for use) and listening to music. Bell FibreOp high-speed internet service including wifi is now available at the cottage for guest use. The indoor dining table (seats six) overlooks the water. The chef’s kitchen is well equipped for cooking and baking to your heart’s content. Full size refrigerator, electric range, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle, pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes, flatware, glassware, wine glasses, baking pans and even a large lobster/mussel/clam pot are all provided. A full-size washer & dryer are also located in the kitchen. A clothes drying rack for outdoor use (for bathing suits and beach towels) has been installed near the cottage entrance. An expansive deck over-looking the cove includes areas for cocktails/lounging (with sofa, club chairs, lounge chairs and a coffee table), grilling on the brand new Napoleon BBQ, al fresco dining and star gazing. Two patio umbrellas (with stands) are provided to permit shade in the heat of the day. A stone pathway links the deck to a firepit patio with six colourful Adirondack chairs where you can lounge waterside in the daytime or have a campfire in the evening. Firewood and kindling are supplied. A stone pathway also connects the designated parking area to the cottage for easy transport of luggage. Four kayaks, four paddles and four lifejackets are provided for guest use. The waterways surrounding the peninsula on which the cottage is located are calm and perfect for paddling. When the tide is right, swimming/floating in the cove is a pleasant respite. The Cottage on the Cove is the perfect tranquil escape from the business of everyday life. Our guests tell us they are sad to leave on check-out day but that they will be back to see us again.

Nous avons passé un très beau séjour dans ce chalet tout équipé et très propre. Un beau coin tranquille. Beaucoup d'oiseaux à observer sur le terrain et dans la ville de Lunenburg. On aurait aimé rester plus longtemps !

Wonderful cottage and location
We had a great time at the cottage. Our 2 year old grand daughter loved the s'mores by the fire. We brought along all we needed for Thanksgiving Dinner and the kitchen was so well equipped that we actually could have roasted our turkey there but we had that done at home. Frank and Val have thought of everything you might need for a great stay! Frank was very quick to respond to any requests we had and the instructions for use of the cottage were very clear. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend for a family get away.

Perfect cottage for R&R
What a perfect place for our rest and relaxation getaway! The cottage was beautiful, fresh and perfectly equipped -- furnishings, bedding, appliances and even nightlights throughout. The view of the cove and wildfowl was great inside and out. It was an easy drive into town, and we really enjoyed sightseeing and visiting excellent area restaurants. We stayed for a week in early September, with great weather, quieter roads and yet still good access to dining and attractions. Frank and Val kept us informed and were very pleasant to work with.

We had a very comfortable stay at this well equipped cottage, on an inlet cove near Lunenburg. It was very quiet which was to our liking and I enjoyed photographing the many water birds around the cove.

This cottage was perfect for our mini reunion. The location was beautiful. It was quiet and peaceful. The kayaking was amazing. The cottage is exceptionally well equipped with everything you need and all great quality items. We were very impressed and really enjoyed our short stay. Would definitely rent it again.

Great Deck!
House was very clean and had everything we needed (except a dishwasher, which we knew about and really wasn't that big of an issue). The deck was wonderful and we enjoyed sitting out to eat and have the seagulls entertain us. The view is lovely and having a swing on the deck was a plus for me. The host responded to all questions promptly and getting in with the lockbox was easy. It was also great to open the windows when the breezes were blowing and enjoy that feeling in July - we don't get that in the US midwest in July!

We enjoyed a short stay here and really appreciated all the little touches that made it more enjoyable. Our trip was so easy to plan knowing anything we needed such as campfire wood, BBQ tools, dishes, soaps, beach towels etc were already taken care of. The property is on a secluded inlet, with hardly anyone around despite other cottages and homes being visible. It was quiet and serene with lots of sea birds and herons flying about especially in the evenings. It was like being in nature with all the conveniences of home. We would definitely love to go back for a longer stay in the future.

We enjoyed our stay here. The owners have done a great job of making the space nice....great deck to relax on and kayaks to take out. House is quite small make the absolute most of their approximate 1000 sq. feet. We were comfy with four adults. Don't think it would be good for any more than that! Probably best for a small family. The town of Lunenburg is fantastic. Terrific place to explore. And great to come back to this cottage after a full day. (The local roads are really nice to stroll on as well.)

Beautiful spot and fun for exploring
We had a great time here. The accommodations were lovely and just what we needed and the kayak day trip we took from the place was perfect. Very clean and lovely views from the house. Very easy to get in and get settled. Unfortunately a large house is in the midst of being built right next door so there was cement grinding and dust around on the Sunday, which was not expected. My only suggestion would be that the windows and doors could use some shades or curtains for privacy in the evening. Overall a very positive experience 💗
