Great view outdated room

We booked a deluxe lake view room. The view was amazing but the room was so small that it didn’t have 2 night stands. It was like a $50 a night Econolodge off a highway. There is no air conditioning and it was very warm. We tried to open the windows but bugs immediately flew in. Breakfast was good and the pool and spa area are top notch. Overall it was overpriced and definitely not 4 stars.

Dear Mark Thanks a lot for staying with us and taking time to review your experience. The room you booked was not Deluxe category but Superior (which means that you have lake view). Being in located in the nature it is normal in this time of the year to have some flies and bugs coming in when you open the windows. We believe keeping our environmental footprint as small as possible, therefore AC's are no option for us. However with our renovation starting in January 2022 we shall change windows for better insulation and also put up a photovoltaic system on the roof, that will also help avoiding heatup of the building. Nice that you enjoyed spa and breakfast. Come and see us again after renovation in 2022! Best regards Erich Dasen

Match the rate 4 star. Have potential of doing better. Smaller menu would be more interesting, but I guess with the type of client/ guest it’s ok.

Beautiful setting over looking Bodensee. Our room was small but well equipped with amenities. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub but even more thrilled to have the full spa to ourselves.

Room was extremely hot and you could hear concersations below room. No air conditioning and wifi was not good. Town shuts down after 5 on Saturday.

I feel sorry that we could not live up to your expectations but nevertheless would like to thank you for sharing your experience with us. Please note that in almoste any village and most towns in Switzerland, Shops will Close on an Saturday afternoon and all day on Sundays. This is due to labour laws. Indeed you were here on a hot day and we are aware that rooms sometimes become hot. Unfortunately it is not all that easy to build in A/C's into the hotel. If you give us a Chance of Hosting you again, we will make sure that you get a room to the North side. I would love to hear what was wrong with the WIFI, so that I can take approriate action on it. The System is provided by Swisscom and should run smoothly at all the times. Best regards Erich Dasen, GM

Great views

Stayed one night travelling business. Nice views over Bodensee lake. Hotel was clean and service OK.

Luxury hotel , great for relaxing

Pros: Fab room, with a balcony and a great view over Lake Constance. Personal attention from staff, the owner greeted us and bade us farewell. Great food.
Location: It was December. It is a sleepy town, many shops were closed. Seems to be a summer walking place. Pool and spa entertained us,
So the first thing to note is to be careful when you search for a hotel that you're Looking for a location and not a region. We searched for Appenzell, and booked this without noticing that we were in the region, not the town. Our fault. That said, the hotel is in a gorgeous setting and the bus from st Galen offered stunning snowy vistas. The hotel was full of older Swiss people recovering from leg and foot operations . Instead of wine coolers at tables, there were holders for crutches. There is a gorgeous spa and treatment rooms. A fab poo, steam room , sauna and outdoor hot tub, all of which we enjoyed ,even in December. We think we were the only mobile couple there! But it was a quirky adventure !

Bahnhof schnell zu Fuß erreichbar - Schöne Aussicht auf d. Bodensee - schöner Wellnessbereich - Personal überwiegend freundlich, weniger gut: Außenliegen zu niedrig unbequem, waren mit 3 Personen gemeldet, jedoch nur 2 Gedecke am Frühstückstisch (bei allen 3 Übernachtungen)
