Review of Baymont Inn and Suites by Wyndham. Helen Georgia Date of Stay 9/12/2024 until 6/15/2024
This property was in the worst condition I have ever been to. I expected much more from my past Wyndham visits.
We were given a room in which maintenance was not performed with any skill. 1.There was an area of falling paint in the bathroom over the shower.2.The “Heat lamp” was a plain light bulb. 3.The caulking around the shower was something a child would have done.4.The shower curtain rod was replaced many times and the holes from the past replacements were not plastered or painted. The shower curtain sagged and the curtain needed to be hooked over the ends where a screw was to hold it in place.5.The floor had a bad repair in the bathroom, the corner nearest the front door had mold. 6..There were flies of some sort throughout the bathroom.
The HVAC unit cover door was broken off, the knobs on the unit were exposed and broken. The thermostat worked, however when they replaced the unit with one of a different size, they did not fill in the hole left by the previous unit. The refrigerator, the glass in the refrigerator was “Crusty”, the lettering from a previous guest’s contents was on the glass. There was no hand soap provided. We were provided one bath towel for a four day stay and had to request more. We were provided about 1/10th of a roll of toilet paper.The outside :There were cigarette butts out side many doors. And in the stairwells. All external areas were in disrepair.

The manager was yelling at guests and being very disrespectful to us and other guests. Very unprofessional assisting us in jogging pants and flip flops with a I dont care attitude including the front desk staff
our room had a broken toilet and severely damaged door no toilet paper soap and towels in room had to request them room was extremely dirty too
staff was upset to provide these items
had to use google translate to communicate with them
there was no 24/7 front desk assistance at night just a sign saying call a number that was disconnected
coffee maker in room but no cups and very dirty
the owners are trading off of the Wyndham bame forva Baymount price with no customary Wyndam amenities
this hotel should be removed from expedia (pictures listed of hotel were all fake)
breakfast buffet had dirty counters and tables with rotten fruit that was there our whole stay

The front desk staff was very polite and helpful, the hotel is an average hotel that needs renovations. Breakfast was a letdown, the images on the expedia website are not indicative of the actual breakfast that is served. If I were staying in Helen, GA again this would probably be number 3-4 on list of hotels I would consider.

Not what I expected from a Baymont property. Never had a bad experience with Baymont by Wyndham until this one.

Drywall was coming loose from the ceiling. Tub was moldy and worn. Bathroom yiles cracked. Shower head was placed at chest height. Toilet leaked and flushed intermittently on its own. Bed frame had a piece sticking out that had to be walked around to avoid injury or tripping. Furniture was worn. Old furniture and matresses were stored in stairwells.
