Little slice of paradise

We were looking for a place with a dock for our boat within a short distance to the islands. We enjoyed fishing throughout the area as well as day trips to Tahquamenon falls, Soo Locks and Drummond Island. The property was clean and furnished with everything we needed. Will definitely rent this home again. Also important to share is the owner was very helpful and responsive to all my questions. :)

We have guests coming from all over the country to visit the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, ranging from first time Yoopers to life long die hards. We would like to think our place is special, in a very special land. We can be as involved with helping make your trip plans the best it can be by good communication in advance as well as any help and support we can give you during your stay. We appreciate guests like Brenda and her family who want to know all the details about the property and the area, in advance, so they are prepared for a wonderful vacation. Wonderful home and location
Publié le 22 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe spent a month here, relaxing in a comfortable home, so well stocked with everything needed for cooking, laundry, bedding and all. The deck and property are terrific for enjoying the area. The house is close to wildlife preserves and to town shops and restaurants. A great place to vacation!

It has been our pleasure to host Mr. and Mrs. O'Hare to our summer cottage on our quiet little bay in the Les Cheneuaux Islands of Lake Huron for the 2nd year. There, one can sit back on the deck an enjoy just the sounds of nature and look upon the water and reflect. We have a boat dock on the north edge of the water and tiny little sandy beach on the south side of the property. The little town of Hessel is a short car ride or even bike ride away. Explore the nature and the woods in the nearby Little Traverse Bay Conservancy just across the road from the property. So much to do, or doing nothing at all and get the your batteries recharged. Thank you O'Hares. We appreciate you and look forward to your trip next summer!

2 week family vacation
Publié le 10 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed an excellent stay at the house. Everything was great. The outdoor fire pit, grill, and comfortable, nicely furnished home. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the mornings drinking coffee. Also, the extra fridge/freezer in the laundry room came in handy for storing extra beverages. The dock worked well for our boat. Plenty of plates, bowls, coffee cups and some great steak knives. Again, really enjoyed ourselves and helped make a great summer vacation in our favorite area with lots of good memories!

We are so pleased that our most recent guests, the Collins had an enjoyable stay at our cottage on Lake Huron in the Les Cheneaux Islands of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We love the place ourselves and strive to make our guests feel as if it is their own home during their stay. We encourage feedback from our guests and do our best to constantly improve the place with decor and amenities that help make vacation chores easier and more convenient. We have our little sandy beach once again with the water level being down a bit. We also have kayaks. We have a 60 foot long dock with our own little harbor with ample depth for most boats up to about 3.5’ draft. We hope anyone who is interested will consider our place on their ‘select’ list of summer vacation Great Lakes homes. Thanks again Collins family! Safe and happy travels!!! A little slice of heaven.

Everything you need to make meals & then gather around the long table to laugh & share stories. Sunrise on the deck with your coffee was the perfect start of everyday. Can't wait to go back again.

Great Getaway

It was the perfect place for our family to come together and enjoy some R & R on the water. The kayaks were a real bonus as well.

Summer vacation

We found that the furniture was not comfortable to lounge on inside the house, and the blinds in the bedroom did not allow us to sleep past sunrise because it was too bright. The outdoor area was nice, but we had to purchase chairs to have at the fire pit since all that was available was a few tree stumps. The dock was also questionably stable so we stayed away from it, which took away the option to fish for us. Some of the kayak paddles were broken too. The house would be great with a few improvements for guests comfortability and entertainment in mind. The most fun we had was brining our own yard games. Other than the few minor complaints, the views were beautiful!

Point Brûlée retreat

Access to the deck and water for boating was great. Extremely peaceful setting. Loved the large deck. Weather was perfect. Owner was extremely helpful, on top of everything, and answered questions promptly.

Beautiful spot, lovely cottage
Publié le 11 août 2020 sur HomeAwayThe Cottage was both charming and very well outfitted with a complete kitchen, a grill, three kayaks, a fire pit, a private dock, and abundant places to sit outdoors and drink in the peaceful setting. Lake Huron surpassed expectations. This was our first visit and we were amazed by the freshness and clarity of the water. A kayak is definitely the way to see this gorgeous spot! Steve is a great host -- responsive to all questions and very welcoming. We enthusiastically recommend this rental.

Rachel and her family were welcomed guests to the cottage. She was a good communicator and asked the right questions. They left the place is great shape. We would overwhelmingly recommend them as guests anywhere. Thank You Rachel! Hope you come a visit again.
