September get-away

The yard & driveway could use a little TLC but they certainly aren't deal breakers.
The non-working screen door on the patio door was a huge disappointment. Being able to have the patio door open to the lake was a major factor in chosing this cottage. I texted the owner on our arrival & was thanked for letting him know. It was obvious the screen hadn't been working for awhile -- the felt insulation tape around the door was mostly pulled off, the screen frame was bent and there had been tape holding the screen door in place.

Fall getaway

Great views
Publié le 31 août 2024 sur HomeAwayUnfortunately the blue/green algae was in bloom during our stay, so no swimming or kayaking, but that wasnt anything the host can control. Still had a great time. The view, especially sunset was spectacular. Loved relaxing in the hammock chairs and by the fire table. Inside had everything you needed for a comfortable stay.comfortable stay. ta le.

Best part was how secluded it is, neighbors are close by but you can’t see or hear them. Glad we brought our RAV4 rather than the 4Runner bc turning around in the driveway down close to the house would be trickier w a big SUV.
Please invest in a blow dryer!

Lakeside retreat

Disappointed
Publié le 19 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayScheduled to stay 5 nights left after 1 night. Wouldnt have stayed even the 1 night but it was late and we were out of options with traveling with kids. Place was so musty smelling, had to open up the whole house immediately to breath.
Litterally a drainage ditch running next to the property, basement had lots of water and dehumidifier running. Sliding back door screen was off the hinge hanging. Window sills so full of dead bugs looked like whey had not been cleaning months. Ant traps on the kitchen counter! Back firepit was so full of weeds broken glass and beer caps we wouldnt have been able to use it even if we had stayed.

Good value on Lake Winnebago
Publié le 18 mai 2024 sur HomeAwaytWe enjoyed a very relaxing stay in this neat and tidy cabin that was exactly as it was described and pictured. The views of the lake and sunsets were awesome. The couches and beds were very comfortable. Could have used some hand towels in the bathroom and a kitchen towel or two, but generally had everything we needed. If others plan to do any meal prep or cooking, please note that there are plates, glasses, plenty of utensils and a set of pots and pans, but not any mixing bowls or food storage containers. Also due to no fault of the hosts, I would reconsider staying at any property on Lake Winnebago in May due to the hatching of the Lake Flies that prevented us from using the upper porch and fire table or even opening the sliding doors. Other than that, our little cousins getaway met our expectations.
