Looking for that perfect getaway for your family or ladies crafting weekend?! Look no further!!! This beautiful, fully stocked vacation rental has 5 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and is located right on the water of Platte Lake with gorgeous sunset views right on the deck! There are 2 outdoor patio areas, canopy swing to sit and enjoy the lake and relaxing hammocks. It also has 2 kayaks, a canoe, paddle-board, a 6-foot by 18-foot Aqua Lily Pad, life-jackets and dock. In addition, pontoon available for rent. Nice sandy area, great for swimming. You will love this place! This place is 2,560 sq. ft home is generous enough in size to accommodate up to 18 guests. It has 3 separate family rooms, one of which is an oversized gathering room that is 23 ft x 23 ft and can accommodate up 12 separate spaces for crafters. Tables & Chairs will set up and available for crafters upon request at no additional charge. Free WiFi (Fiber Optic high speed). Restaurants within 5-10 minutes. Close to four-wheeler & snowmobile trails. 30 minutes from the Brainerd area.

This place is nothing short of impressive! Situated right on the lake, this home is ideal for large family getaways, reunions, celebrations, and just relaxing days on the water.
Stepping inside, you're greeted by a full dining room to that seats up to 12 people, vacation rental has comfortable furnishings and remarkable lakefront views through the wall of windows.

Dull moments won't exist thanks to modern amenities like free high-speed WiFi and flat-screen Smart TVs, cupboard full of board games. Dirty clothes won't be a pain point either with the convenient in-unit washer and dryer!

Be sure to take full advantage of the Weber Propane Gas Grill and Blackstone griddle on the deck overlooking the lake - the west facing exposure will give you gorgeous views of the sunset over the lake.

Come nighttime, everyone in your group will have their own space to unwind. Five bedrooms boast comfortable sleeping arrangements for 14, with additional sleeping spaces on pull out couches for 4 more.

The property sits directly on Platte Lake which connects to Sullivan Lake. Excellent for fishing.

Fishing in Northern Minnesota is known for its excellence, and lucky you, you'll find it right in your backyard. Platte Lake specializes in Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Walleye and Crappie.

There are also many ATV/UTV designated trails within minutes. The county allows you to drive right to them and to restaurants, general store, etc. So bring your machines and go on some rides!

Should you need a change of scenery, venture just 10 miles to Mille Lacs Lake, where you'll find Kathio State Park - home to numerous hiking trails, Grand Casino, and an array of delicious restaurants.
In the winter, this area is an ideal destination for cross-country skiing or snowmobiling with trails just minutes from your door.

Friends weekend
This is a great place. We had one hiccup, which was minor, a smoke detector battery started chirping...which was taken care of within 30 minutes or less of us asking what WE could do. Excellent service. Will be back. Great location for all of us. Fishing off of the dock was even great. Will be back if it works out. Thank you!!!

Look No Further!
Just feet from the lake, the wildlife and sunsets do not disappoint. We enjoyed exploring Platte and Sullivan lakes in the luxury pontoon. We watched the eagles in the morning with breakfast on the patio, and listened to the Loons in the evenings around the fire. You'll want for nothing here. The generous layout of the home and well ammended bedrooms, means you have the room and comfort to truly relax. The host was gracious and quick to communicate which made our stay easy, and stress-free. Look no further, Whether you're a large group or small, this home and it's location will impress. Already planning our next trip back.

Cozy and fun
Our family had a great time at the Hillman House. The house was very cozy, plenty of comfy beds and just enough room to have everyone around the dining room table! It was fun to fish right off the end of the dock. Nice supply of safety gear, fun outside toys and lake was very smooth to take the pontoon for a spin. Beautiful view of the lake. Owners were awesome to work with and very kind when we had questions. Would definitely consider renting this place again!!

Family memories
Our 3 generations of family, ages 12-74, just returned to Hillman Hideaway for another 4 nights. Last summer was supposed to be a once in a lifetime vacation here for all of us together. Then last Christmas, our kids and grandkids all decided to come back. We did. I learned to paddle board at 69 yrs old. We canoed and kayaked. The kids jumped on and off of the Lilly pad both from the pontoon or running off of the dock and jumping on to it in the rain. We all played cards together at the picnic tables or on rainy days at that huge dining room table that held all 14 of us! Most of our cooking was done on the blackstone or the campfire, but the kitchen works, too. We caught fish from the pontoon and in the evening the kids could catch fish from the dock or a kayak. We sat around the fire using the wood the hosts provided and watched glorious sunsets over the lake. We relaxed in hammocks listening to loons calling as eagles soared and swooped to catch fish. The cabin has plenty of room to spread out. The shed fridge was much appreciated, as well as the life jackets, fishing poles, and lots of water toys. Laura was great to work with, answering any questions promptly. Jeremy too, wanting to make sure the pontoon was working for us. We’re glad we rented the pontoon. It’s beautiful. Thank you for this slice of paradise!

Perfect family getaway
We stayed here for a family gathering with my siblings and kids. There was plenty of space to spread out, the kids loved the upstairs bonus room. The beds were very comfortable for sleeping, and with multiple seating areas, we all found places to congregate. We rented the pontoon boat, and enjoyed every minute of our time on the lake. When questions came up, the owners were very quick to respond and very helpful. I highly recommend this home for group gatherings!

Family get away.
We had a great time. The property is just as described and as it shows in the pictures. Very clean, organized, and nice areas to spread out in. Laura was very helpful before check in telling us what we might want to bring and giving us other tips. Laura and Jeremy were also super at talking us through a few issues with the boat, and very timely at it as well. The grandkids loved the lily pad, and all the other water toys. They would have spent the entire time jumping off the dock or lily pad if they could have. Very quiet and relaxing. Thanks for a great time. Hopefully we will be able to return again sometime.

Our family has been doing summer get togethers for around 10 years at various VRBOs in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and this was the best one yet. The combination of being comfortable, quiet and relaxing, along with great fishing and a very responsive host makes this a place we will be returning to.

Family Fun
Great location! We enjoyed beautiful weather, sunsets and a quiet lake. There was lots of opportunity to enjoy the water, do some tubing and relax. Close enough to town where we were able to go grab a bite to eat or enjoy the local area zoo. Laura is easy to work with and communicates often. We had so much fun as a family just enjoying time together.

Fantastic Stay at Hillman Hideaway
We had a great stay at Hillman Hideaway. We had 5 adults and 9 kids ages 5-13. The place is excellent with plenty of space. The three separate family room areas left plenty of room for the kids to be upstairs playing games and hanging out while the parents were relaxing. We rented the pontoon as well and the kids loved floating out in the lake and swimming with the lily pad. Laura was outstanding and easy to work with. We did a lot of fishing with our boat as well and the fishing was good to excellent. Overall a great experience. The grandkids have already asked if we could go back again next year

A Perfect Vacation!
This property was so perfect for us! The 5 bedrooms downstairs meant that all of the adults, plus the 15-yr. old, had privacy. The other 5 grands, ages 8-13, slept and hung out in the wonderful large space upstairs. They loved it! We spent most of the mornings relaxing on the two patios with tables, while the kids played. We rented the pontoon for 3 days. Each afternoon, we loaded it up with the Lily Pad and headed out for deeper water to swim and play. It happened to be a very hot week, which was perfect. Bonfires every night. Except for one golfing outing, we never left the property. We did all of our cooking there, and just enjoyed being together. I would definitely book this property again!

This was the perfect place for our family vacation! It was nice to spread out if needed. The view of the lake was beautiful and having the use of the pontoon was an added bonus! Will definitely stay there again if we are back in that area!

Great place to stay with a group, lots of space to spread out. Super kid friendly - lots of beach toys, many sizes of life jackets, indoor toys too. Hosts were very approachable and helpful. Only downside I would say is not too much counter space in the kitchen. Really enjoyed our stay and plan to return!

Plenty of sleeping options for 13 people, various ages, from 4 related families. Three gathering places. Kitchen counter space limited. Communication as to what’s at cabin top notch so we weren’t hauling items not needed and we’re hauling items we would need. Games, fishing equipment, chairs and second fridge in shed were very handy. Plenty of parking for our 4 vehicles. LOVED having pontoon on site for additional rental. Beautiful, large lake with second lake thru a tunnel. Fishing was good.

Our family of 8 Adults and 6 kids loved our stay at Hillman House. There’s plenty of room for everyone! The house is well equipped and right on the water. The pontoon boat was a highlight as well as fishing from the dock! Laura is a very attentive, courteous property owner. It’s a great place for a large group or family.

Pretty Perfect Inside & Out
Our group enjoyed our stay at this cabin! Very spacious setting (some ppl could read in one living room while others watched a movie in another) with all the amenities, such as: large dining table, coffee bar set up, TVs in most rooms, and lots of bed size choices. Outdoors we enjoyed the kayaks, pontoon, hammock, grills, patio furniture, fire pit, and a new Lily pad! The extra fridge space and freezer space was much appreciated. There was ample cookware, bowls, dishes and silverware. Tiny downsides: The trash can in the kitchen was annoying & there were 2 throw rugs that were trip hazards. Also, the shower near the washing machine took a long time for hot water.

We had a great stay at the Hillman Hideaway. Laura’s communication since booking over a year ago all the way through the weekend was prompt and supportive. We were happy to rent the pontoon and spend two days on the water. The extra space to spread out was much appreciated with young kids.

Super Summer MN Vacation
Just returned from a week at Hillman Hideaway including 6 adults and 5 older teens. It was perfect for all of us. The cabin is clean/homey/cozy yet spacious w/the 5 bedrooms and 3 gathering areas. We were fortunate to be able to eat most meals on the spacious patio w/ great views of the lake, loons and amazing sunset. The upper gathering room was great for our teens though we all enjoyed games, puzzles and movies up there. Outside we had a great pontoon/canoe/paddle board and kayaks plus lily pad and swimming out on the lake. Everyone enjoyed hours of fishing in search of the elusive “big ones”. It’s also close to ATV trails. Our wonderful hosts were quick to respond to questions and came personally when there was an equipment issue. This rated easily a 5 Star from all of us.

We had a blast at this vacation property. There were around 12 of us and we had plenty of room to move around. Laura was great in responding to my questions. My only suggestion is that you provide more detail about the items/games/utensils that were provided with the house. We overpacked a lot of stuff as we weren't sure if it was at the house.
