I loved this location. You have the option of AC, but I never used it, being quite comfortable with the breeze from the open windows looking out over the tropical valley behind the property. Falling asleep to the coqui frogs and the soft sounds of rain was rejuvenating. I loved walking into Hilo in the mornings, too, for a delicious breakfast at the Booch, before heading out on my excursions to the nearby sites. The hosts are also incredibly kind, friendly, and gracious. I would love to stay here again if I returned to the big island. **Also, with the housing crisis on the island, I wasn't sure about staying in a VRBO, but the owners rent only a part of the property and live nearby (but removed from the unit). This went a long ways towards assuaging my conscience on that score.
