Great location, great house with very short walk to beach

The house is in a great, quiet neighborhood and a very short walk to the beach. Crazy amount of rooms and sleeping space that we didnt use but would be great for a little family get together. Pool and hot tub that are perfect size and the pool people came and serviced the pool with no disturbance. Garbage was collected from back of house with no disturbance. Lastly the checkin process was absolutely seamless. We did have one of the basement doors would not lock and with one text to vacasa and they had the maintenance guy come out and fix it the same day. Very pleased with this stay and would highly recommend it to others.

AVOID 6 Ibis Hilton Head

Property should be very nice. Upkeep is very lacking. Remotes for TV’s missing. Batteries dead in others. Ceiling fan in master almost coming off ceiling. Lavatories inoperable due to broken pop up drains. Leaking shower valves and water running under unsealed threshold. Cracked wine glass left in cabinet with clean almost caused a nasty cut. Could be a very nice place. Unfortunate situation now.

Horrible customer care and response regarding the issues that we experiened during our stay.

Checked in and spend over an hour cleaning the filthy pool and pool filter. The deck area was filthy, moldy and needed to be pressure washed. The floor rugs/ mats were filthy so we washed them within an hour of walking in. There was Zero propane for the grills. We had gone grocery shopping and bought and marinated meats to put on grill but instead had to go out and drop $300 for the 11 of us to eat out. The flattop grill was just a slab of rust- you would never want to actually put food on it. Our master bedroom smelled like sewage, something must have been in the pea trap, but it was really horrible. You could smell it from down the hall from our bedroom. We were told the pool heat would be turned on as it was only 70 out and pool was freezing but they never turned it on. On day 2 of our stay someone came over and brought propane also came to pressure wash the pool deck and furniture and so we had that going on most of the entire day and everything was soaking wet. Should have been done B4 we checked in! The property manager came and agreed our room smelled like sewage but did nothing about it. After day 2 the company did not respond to any of our MANY calls, texts, visits to office, etc.. We did not even get a response. I have called 2x since we checked out as well and no response. The house was great location and it would have been really nice but property manager dropped the ball on all these details and lack of response.

David, we are disheartened to read that you experienced issues that kept you from enjoying your stay. Our local manager noted that they had the deck pressure washed and refilled the propane in a timely manner and we regret any inconvenience. Additionally, a plumber went to the home and did not detect an odor in the primary bedroom. We’re sorry that your experience in our home was not the vacation for which you had planned and for which we strive to provide our guests. We hope the compensation you received helped alleviate your frustration and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

Wonderful

The property was exactly as described and actually exceeded our expectations. The pool was a perfect size, great quiet location. Easy walk to the beach and Coligny Plaza. Everyone had their own comfortable space. It was the ideal house for our family. We will be staying again in the future!

There wasn't one beach towel provided!!!!! Fly in from somewhere? Can you pack enough beach towels for your guests - no impossible. House needs major updates. Beach access was good, but haven't stayed in a house at that price with little comfort features. Had a gorgeous house on Sanibel for less money which was loaded with comfort features, beach towels, luxury bedding with lots of luxury toiletries.... this house was a disappointment from previous rentals. Sorry to say that.

Overall, the best so far!

Room for everyone to relax and cook. This was a seafood and steak trip … not fish and corn dogs! Vacasa did a magnificent job. Other VRBO managers in the area just don’t stack to them. Thanks!

Lovely home. Well-equipped in the kitchen and had plenty of space for sleeping and entertaining 12 people. Would consider renting again -but the extra fees are a little too much. So would have to shorten stay.

Just OK plus green hair

First the positives: large house with plenty of room and parking. Nice pool, close to the beach and Coligny. But, many things are not up to par and the property manager, Vacasa, is hard to deal with and there's no sense of urgency. The pool turned our hair green! Not a slight tinge, but people thought it was died green. The wall below the pool is green, so it's not a new issue. They sent the pool company, but it didn't fix it. The Vacasa folks are friendly, but all they can do is "submit a ticket" and then you have to wait for the owner to contact you. They don't proactively send status on the tickets, so you're forced to keep contacting them during your vacation. I had to fix the pool deck drain because it was flooded after rain. Only took me 15 minutes to figure it out, but why did I have to do it? I could tell it had been clogged for months. Kitchen was not as well stocked as expected. Bad paint jobs throughout. This could be a great home, but just too many hassles.

Family vacation

Good house for family with dogs for beach vacation. Close to lots of great restaurants and stores as well.
