Railway Cottage is a beautifully refurbished Victorian terraced cottage, a short walk to the bustling centre of Holt in one direction and to the Poppy Line station in the other.
Retaining bags of character with Farrow and Ball paintwork, stripped wooden floors, squashy sofas and large comfortable beds, Railway Cottage is the ideal base for a family holiday exploring the North Norfolk coast.
The property sleeps a total of eight, with six in the main house (a king, super king and one twin bedroom) and two more in 'Platform 2' - the annexe across the courtyard at the rear of the house and actually a converted wash house!
The garden lies to the main beyond the annexe and has a lovely secluded, rather 'secret' feel (or so I've been told by several children!). There are various places to sit and enjoy the garden - take morning coffee on the deck behind the annexe, fire up a barbecue in the courtyard between the kitchen and annexe, or laze in the deck chairs on the lawn. Deck chairs, boules and swing ball all housed in the shed.
Family meals can be enjoyed around the large table in the kitchen or outside in the courtyard. Cooler evenings and winter nights can be spent enjoying the warmth of the Aga, curled up by the fire with board games or TV in the sitting room.
Great wifi too!
