disappointing stay
Publié le 1 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayFirst impression at arrival: very dark, unsure if we were at the correct location, no address sign or outside lights to the porch. It was very dark and no pathway, as my sister was handicapped her footing was unsure from the car to the front porch.
Entering: the down stairs bedroom bed was very high off the floor and my handicapped sister was challenged to get on and off the bed. This bathroom had shelving falling off the wall at the sink area. The floor was collapsing under the sink. The shower shelving was not secured to the wall.
Upstairs: dead flies accumulated. The bath faucets were turned on and there was water leaking from behind the wall into the tub. The ceiling was so slanted that nothing could be done without leaning over.... the bath, the toilet, the sink.
We left a day early and did not ask for any reimbursement, since we felt it would not be agreed. We just found a hotel and rented 2 rooms.
The grounds were nice and the location was good, but the overall experience was not.

Old fashioned home
Publié le 14 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is a cute old fashioned home. It was comfortable and meet our needs. The jacuzzi was a nice perk and was clean and working. The home has everything you need to cook for a family. The owners are quick to answer questions. Had a great stay here.

The Power of Pause in Nature's setting

The house was immaculate, cozy, welcoming and quiet...We totally relaxed with good books and a little music in the background while we were there. We had plans for every night, but during the day we just did absolutely nothing but chill. The hosts never bothered us, but were available nearby if we needed anything. The hot tub was extra special one night when we returned home and had the luxury of it under a star filled sky. All in all, it was truly a wonderful experience to disconnect from everything for a few days. We should do it more often...

Fantastic Eclipse Getaway
Publié le 22 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayI picked this place because it was in the zone of totality and I could watch the eclipse from the comfort of a hot tub instead of having to fight through traffic. Clouds unfortunately completely blocked the view but still had a great time. There were some minor maintenance issues like how the main bedroom door downstairs did not shut that should be fixed to improve other's experience but overall it was a lovely visit. When I was leaving I sent a message about possibly losing a necklace that they never responded to but they responded to messages while I was there fine. The bed is super comfortable! I'd go again.

Great for visiting Hunt Hallow ski hill.

The cottage is on the older side but everything was clean and tidy. Water pressure was very low, but bathrooms where clean.
Hot tub could have used a vacuuming, but it was nice to have it after skiing or spending time out doors.
Owner and her husband were very accommodating and the chickens and other animals where very fun to watch.

Exactly what we wanted!

The home was clean and tidy, and offered exactly what we needed for a rural stay in the country. 10/10 - will definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in the area.

Publié le 16 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe little place was rustic. Very nice inside and clean. Could do with somevweeding and simple landscape update but other than that we liked it. Glad to be left alone as we like to keep to ourselves but a small welcome note would of been nice!

The cottage was the perfect location for our ski race at Hunt Hollow. Cottage was clean. Beds were comfortable. Hot tub was FANTASTIC! Cottage could use a little maintenance, but overall was a great stay! If you want to unplug and recharge, this is a perfect getaway!

Straight out of a Fairy Tale
Publié le 10 nov. 2022 sur HomeAwaySheep, goats, free range chickens, hiking trails amidst clear streams, a witchy little kitchen garden. Cottage is darling and serviceable, however the this and that's are numerous. I was more amused by them, my friend, not so much. Unfortunately she drowned in the hot tub as life jackets were not provided.
