Great Stay for baseball

Posted Jul. 2, 2024 on HomeAway
This property was a perfect place for my family. The house was a good size for me, my wife, and 2 sons(14) (12). The house was in a nice, quiet neighborhood. We stayed for 5 nights and slept comfortably every night. There is a train that passes at night, it is close enough to hear, but not so loud it should really bother anyone. We were in town for a youth baseball tournament. This location was about 45 min to an hour from Hobby Airport / Downtown Houston. There are many places to eat in the area by driving a few minutes. My wife and I enjoy going for walks in the early morning (6 to 7am) and we were able to walk the neighborhood and say "hi" to many of the people in the neighborhood. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. The hosts were responsive and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great Stay!

Posted May 6, 2024 on HomeAway
Stay was excellent. Only issues was the coffee pot wouldn’t work, but a spare was located on site and worked fine. Remote to Roku tv was missing but a new one was dropped off in a very timely manner. Great weekend all around!

Decent place to stay

It was a decent property the only thing that would have been better and I related it to the property owner it would have been a decent frying pan and a coffee machine that actually worked. But the facility itself was fine

Location good

The area was quite calm the possibly issue I had with the general stay was the point at which we arrived it was an entertaining smell it had pet hair on the furniture the dishes were filthy it was extremely dusty and the sheet material wasn't spotless likewise there was no dish towels there to wash the dishes and there was no pots or container actually except for the director of the property was extremely sweet it wasn't any little towels yet I got some anyway for the region and the spot of the area was extraordinary a decent move away from home

Christmas 2023

Posted Jan. 1, 2024 on HomeAway
We were traveling from Chicago to Texas for Christmas. 24 hours before we check in he gave us all the information we needed to get in. He even put another tv in the master bedroom. The house was clean. One of things I suggest, if you have guest staying during Christmas is to decorate. Thankfully we drove from Chicago so we were able to bring a tree with us. The lock to get in the home was funky and we were never able to use it. If you're looking for luxury home this would not be for you. It's an older home but it worked just fine for us. Thank you!!

Worst stay I’ve ever had

Posted Nov. 20, 2023 on HomeAway
My family and I rented this home, not thinking it would be fancy, but just a place to lay our head at night. Turns out it wasn’t either. First of all, we were given no instructions on using the electronic lock to enter the home which was incredibly finicky. We finally enter to find a very dingy, grimy home. The kitchen had a horrible smell; the bedsheets were horrendous. All of the furnishings felt like they might disintegrate upon use. We received only 2 rolls of toilet paper (mind you we are 6 people there for several days). The most irritating part was that at first glance there were no towels at all. Upon further investigation we realize there are towels, but they are all sopping wet hanging in a bedroom closet. Apparently we were required to dry them ourselves. I think after this experience I will swear off VRBO entirely. It was completely unacceptable.
Comment from Hotel Management
Dec. 2, 2023 by VrboOwner, Hotel Management
Emma, Over the many years that we have been with VRBO providing stellar services to our hosts, I have never received such a biased and inaccurate review. A quick look at all our reviews will show that the vast majority of guests give us a 5-star review with an occasional 4 star. We appreciate guests who provide constructive feedback and are always willing to take their ideas into account. But nothing you mentioned is accurate or worth consideration- except maybe that we can place extra towels in a more conspicuous place, although no one has ever complained that placing the extras in the closet made them hard to find! The entrance to our home has a private electronic code that guests use to access the home. It is convenient, private, safe and easy to use and directions are given before check-in. I can’t understand why you had trouble using it. Additionally, we do have a spare key in the lockbox that we keep there for emergencies. Had you informed us that you were having trouble, we would have given you the code for that lockbox as well. But you didn’t reach out to me at check-in, which implies you were readily able to access the home! Secondly, our cleaning crew does an amazing job. Not only do they clean but they also sanitize all surfaces in accordance with CDC guidelines. Our home -according to prior guests- is sparkling clean, beautiful, cozy and inviting. I am not sure what the verbiage you used speaks to, because we have never had anyone use such words as you have used. We have a large stock of extra towels and linens, and unlike many other rentals, we provide our guests with free access to all of that. We also have a supply closet and provide soap, shampoo, lotion, household cleaners, trash bags, kitchen paper, toilet paper, tissue paper, even tea and coffee, all as a courtesy to our guests. In the rare instance that guests do run out of supplies, we are able to deliver them within 2 hours as we have a local management team in the area- and our check-in guidelines clearly state that we are willing to provide anything you need during your stay. You did not contact us asking for anything at all during your stay. If the supplies we provided were indeed insufficient, why didn’t you reach out? The furniture, according to all our prior guests is of very high quality and we are continuously updating it. Some of our furniture was just delivered on October 1st of this year!! Plus we purchase new linens and towels every 6 months. Your comments are out of place and biased as evidenced by the honest reviews we have received both before and after yours. Your decision to not use VRBO again is probably better than you insulting future hosts with inaccurate and hateful reviews.

Maintenance Required

Posted Oct. 16, 2023 on HomeAway
The house is modest and, on the surface, clean. The 1970s linen and coffee pot needs an upgrade. The coffee pot takes an hour to make coffee. Someone has control of the AC online. It is Houston, TX, and you all need control of AC. The neighbor’s yard has a camera facing the front door, plus the neighbor lady was very intrusive, almost like spying. By the way, bring your toilet paper because they limit three rolls. Their soap dispenser fell off the wall, and I was charged half the repair. I can guarantee it will fall again. You might be the next maintenance contributor.
