Absolute Nightmare

If I could rate this property a zero I absolutely would! At first glance you might think you can make it work until the smell of mildew and water damage masked by glade plugins overwhelms you. Don’t expect your dog to be able to run in the “yard” advertised. As it was overgrown with grass and very small. The patio table had an ashtray with cigarettes overflowing out of it. The bathroom is not the same as advertised. The walls are covered in scratches and holes. The towel hook fell down as soon as I put a wash cloth on it. The cold water handle in the shower was just a nail. You would need pliers to turn it on. The hot water was scolding hot. Bed linens and sectional all wreaked of cigarette smoke. The light fixture in the door entrance was dangling. There were two TVs one completely not operating and the other one would not load movies despite showing connected to WiFi. And the icing on the cake was the 13 roaches we killed in less than 4 hours. We didn’t last a night here.

The cleaning crew has now been fired, have a new crew. We got water in the unit during the Derecho storm. We have gone in removed all base moldings on the lower level. Dried out the inside of the walls, bleached and replaced insulation, dry wall and base moldings. Installed new carpet. All issues have been corrected. However i believe this guest was wanting free rent whereas the prior tenant had no complaint other than one of the TV's not working.

Avoid This Place - Unacceptable Experience

My experience with this rental was extremely disappointing. We were offered an early check-in at 3 pm, which was great since we had an event later that evening. However, when we arrived at 3:10 pm, the place was in complete disarray—uncleaned from the previous guests, with soiled beds, dirty linens, towels, bugs, and overall chaos. To make matters worse, there was no sign of the owner, and we couldn’t get in touch with them via message or phone. After failing to reach the owner, we contacted VRBO and had to scramble to find an alternative place to stay since the official check-in time of 4 pm passed without any update. The owner finally texted at 5 pm saying the place was ready, but by then, we had already relocated. This rental was nowhere near the quality depicted in the listing photos, which are clearly enhanced and misleading. I would strongly advise against booking this property. Our experience was stressful and entirely unacceptable.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a VRBO or hotel

When we got there it was filthy. Garbage everywhere. Had to contact the landlord and it took 5 hrs until we were allowed back inside. Check in was 4pm and my family drove from Oklahoma 9 hours. By the time we got inside everyone was exhausted and it smelled better but we had went to the store and bought cleaning supplies. The mop I bought and used was brown when I got don’t mopping. I had to buy any spray and spray down the front doorway and wall and the back doorway and wall. No way it was mopped. Window units, one room got cold the other one we went to Costco and bought a fan. The tv didn’t work in the living room only one in the main bedroom. The shower wouldn’t turn the hot water on so I got a screw driver out and tightened it myself and could at least take a shower. My husband left a aldis bag with my makeup clothes and prescription medication. With a pillow (ours) on top. I have been reaching out to the landlord. We just moved here from Oklahoma. Even at a hotel if something was forgotten they have a lost in found if they don’t reach out to you. I will be filing police report. Worst stay I have ever been.

Poor service, costed stress time and money…but finally the wrong was righted

We never stayed at the property due to hurricane damage. We were not made aware of the damages prior to our travels and found this out upon arrival. I feel that we should have been contacted prior given the storm with a possible tornado was 2 weeks prior instead of us contacting him. We found other accommodations while in Houston. We finally were refunded but did have to contact VRBO and the host multiple times starting 9 days ago before the issues were resolved. I appreciate the refund but the process was unnerving and unnecessary to say the least and more costly since our secondary arrangements were sought last minute and demand was high given multiple properties in Houston were hit by this storm. Honestly I’m disappointed with the process and communication from both the host and VRBO.

Not bad but with some hiccups

After a long day of travel with a toddler, we were surprised to see the cleaners still cleaning when we arrived 5 min. after check-in time. They allowed us in to set down our things but remained to stay another 50 min - awkward! The place is really nicely done and set up, however the kitchen is lacking. In addition to continually smelling like gas - from the appliances (we checked for leaks it smelled so much), there we not many provisions...no paper towels, salt/pepper/frying pans, etc. One of the main reasons we like staying in a VRBO vs. a hotel is the kitchen. We would stay again if these items were taken care of.

The apartment needs a good owner

Communication with this owner is awful the refrigerator was broken the internet didn't work and the owner never came to assist me. It was not a good stay for me. I stayed 8 days without good internet.
