Lovely spot in winter (great fire)!
Publié le 14 août 2022 sur HomeAwayLoved it; beautiful house in nice location but still only 20 minutes from Cowra. Attractions include Lachlan River, Wyangala Dam and Milky Way overhead. Only suggestion would be a wall heater in the bathroom.

A rural hideaway in the Cowra area
Publié le 5 mai 2022 sur HomeAwayThe old Jerringomar homestead is an historic home that has been added to, located on the Frogmore road about 37km from Cowra. The road is fully sealed all the way (at least via Darby's Falls). There are two double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, large lounge and dining room, plus an entrance area and extensive, sunny verandahs and large grounds. The setting is idyllic and restful, helped by the goats who occupy the paddocks adjoining. However, it would be unfair not to mention some reservations. The house is, in our view, overly cluttered with a miscellany of bric-a-brac, books, magazines etc.. In colder weather it is also a cold house. There is an open fire that can be used, and an electric heater, which warm the lounge-dining rooms, but the rest of the premises are unheated. There is a heavy reliance on a number of powerboards as the only way to power everything. Internet, as in much of rural Australia, is very poor, but our Telstra mobiles also struggled. A landline phone appears not to work, so, were there an emergency, help would be hard to summon. And I must mention the "doors" on the bathroom - a pair of saloon type doors that afford minimal privacy. Were you sharing the house with another couple, you'd need to know each other pretty well. Overall, while we did enjoy our stay, the property is, in our view, somewhat overpriced and comes with reservations.

Hi Alan, part of the charm of the cottage is that its more than a century old and although it offers modern conveniences, we have restored it meticulously to keep elements of the past intact. A point that have elicited appreciative comments from all our guests in the past. Ample non-fiction books and quality international magazines have been selected to offer a wide variety of topics and interests to guests.
The power board has been serviced and approved by a qualified electrician and provides ample power for household needs. There are no issues with it. Internet is fully functional 24/7. 4G is available in the bedroom and on the veranda and gardens. Other than the cosy open fire in the lounge, there are heaters provided for the bedrooms as well as dual zone electric blankets on all the beds. Thick, plush blankets adds added comfort and warmth. The bathroom is situated well away from the common and iiving areas so privacy is not an issue. The cottage is very competitively priced and offers elegance and quality.at an affordable price.

Beautiful country escape
Publié le 26 janv. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe had a lovely stay in your beautiful country cottage.
We loved the sheep and goats, especially the cute kids, and our dog loved having lots of space to run in the fully enclosed yard. The garden is beautiful and I tried hard to enjoy all the shady garden seats at least once to sit and enjoy the view or read a book. The well-stocked kitchen was greatly appreciated and the shower-with-a-view was a fun experience (for a family of townies).
Highly recommend the Japanese Garden and POW memorial in Cowra.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable few days. Thank you!

It was such a pleasure having Serena and her family (and furry companion) stay at our cottage for their country break.
Serena responded quickly to messages and I love that they could relax and have a good time.
Lovely to know they enjoyed the animals and garden.
They left the house spotless. What a pleasure to host such a lovely family.
Thanks for your appreciative comments Serena, much appreciated.

Country cottage getaway
Publié le 14 juin 2021 sur HomeAwayA great spot to get away from the world. A little isolated, but that’s what we were looking for.
Rug up in winter! The quiet nights by the fire, with a glass of wine were very enjoyable. Great to be able to have our furry companions along for the stay.
