Publié le 15 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was our first time using VRBO. Everything was fairly straightforward. Too many extra fees considering we did most of the cleanup for the next guests ourselves. All in all, would use VRBO again, maybe different host/location.

Thank you, Esther for your review and your comments! Calculating fees is a complex issue always. Not wanting to overcharge yet at the same time ensuring that the cleaning fees and pet fees cover the time spent by my staff. Having a hot tub on the property offers a big part of the time because we generally need to empty the tub and refill, and pets require a considerable more cleaning time. That said, you absolutely stood out from the rest! When my cleaner arrived, they literally could not tell that we even had guests staying as you did such an outstanding job tidying the entire house. While not necessary to have gone to that length, it was very much appreciated! I’m not sure we’ve ever seen the property so clean following a visit. So thank you for that. And your comments like others, always make me rethink what we are doing and to try and make it better! Thank you again for your stay and your comments, Paul

Howser Vacation

Amazing property, most importantly for me, the remoteness, and the serenity of the area and comfort within the cabin. Great times relaxing, enjoying the family time we had. Lifetime memories. Thank you Paul!

Heaven on Earth

We highly recommend this luxurious and rustic get away. We will definitely return with beach shoes, our kayak and my floatie. 10/10...100% Thank you, Paul for sharing your gem of a property!

Escape from everything

We came in from the north side and drove the ‘shorter’ route-which is not for the faint of heart-it is a very narrow gravel road that winds along cliff faces-extremely picturesque but a little nerve racking at times. When you pull into the cabin it is a wonderful beautiful location. The cabin is quaint with all the amenities-it is small. We went for an explore down to the lake-this was the highlight of our stay-we spent many days exploring the beach and lake which seemed like we were the only ones there-truly a wonderful spot.
Couple down sides: as the cabin is likely not utilized all year and we came early in the season there was a definite noise problem-we caught one the first day but the smell was quite difficult to handle-the cabin bathroom especially was hard to be in as the mouse smell was almost overwhelming.
We spent our time at the cabin in the hot tub, outside shower, eating on the deck, and enjoying the view.
In summary-if you want to get away from it all: this is your place. We had a great time, would recommend it but know it is far away!

Hello Matthew, Thank you for your review as they are always appreciated! And as well for your critiques and noted concerns. The cabin is utilized year round, but one unfortunate reality of country life is dealing with its spring mice invasion. While we do our utmost best to keep them in the outdoors, sometimes, and particularly in the spring, we have some get through the barricades! While we have multiple traps set, unfortunately the smell you noted was coming from 2 mice that had expired underneath the water tank in the bathroom closet. It wasn't easy, but they have now been removed. My sincerest apologies to you and your family for that discomfort! And regarding the shorter 'scenic' route, while I mention it's only for those comfortable driving on high mountain gravel roads, I've taken your comment to heart and will add a more discriptive tone to aid future guests in deciding which route to take! Thank you again for bringing these concerns to my attention as our guest satisfaction is our highest priority! All the best, Paul

Family Day Weekend Retreat

Best cabin ever!

He was so easy to talk to and very accommodating. We will definitely be coming back. Wonderful wonderful experience!!

The Kids Loved It And Didn't Want To Leave
