Young man who checked me in was polite and professional. You could tell he was busy because it was family weekend for sam houston. Room, bed, bathroom was clean. AC worked well. Comforter had cigarette burn in it but bed was clean. Larger pillows would be nice. Clean up area by container, there is dog feces all over there. I would stay again for a short stay.

No light in bathroom. Shower and sink drains stopped up. Deadbolt wouldn’t engage.

Checked in and they did not have a disabled room down stairs with 2 beds. Receptionist gave us a non smoking room on 2nd floor and when we went to the room it smelled like Marijuana. Went back down to change rooms. They finally gave us a room that was trully non smoking. The rooms had sheets that had cigarette burns and didn't seem clean. We wanted to leave but couldn't find another room at another location for our budget.

I loved the pool and the families playful use of water and secure area. Staff was accommodating and made good coffee. I slept very soundly and didn’t leave until 9 when I had expected to be on my way at 6AM, ahead of any traffic. I enjoyed the diversion.
