Disappointing

Fairly disappointed with this hotel. The rooms weren't particularly clean. There were some old stains on some of the bedding. I was surprised that it was impossible to get extra pillows. Supposedly they have absolutely none on site. The windows aren't the best so it can be quite noisy from the industrial estate nearby. It felt like staying in a hostel above a shop. Which considering it was more expensive than Reykjavik, was more than a little disappointing. The lack of real door locks on the rooms, and no do-not-disturb signs, meant that cleaning staff walked in on me in the shower at 9am. Particularly surprising since room cleaning is only done off you pay an extra charge. Overall I was pretty disappointed. If you need a quick night somewhere, there's definitely worse out there, but for the price you can definitely find better. There were some positives, the beds were surprisingly comfortable and the staff was nice.

The hotel is very nice, clean and staff are friendly and loved the conservatory area. There is also a roof terrace which would have been great for trying to see the northern lights if it had been clear. The room was in good condition and had a lovely en-suite with great toiletries. The hotel itself is exceptionally warm throughout, a bit too warm at times and we didn’t find any ability to control the heat in the room other than opening the window. However, it is on quite a busy street so during the week it can start to get noisy with traffic.

We stayed for a wonderful 2 nights at the Greenhouse Hotel. This hotel is one that I would highly recommend. It's ideally located for highland tours and the Golden Circle, but best of all, it has in-house food trucks offering a wide range of cuisines. The hotel also has a cafe, shop and local goods, including foods and handmade items from local artisans. This place is a must-stay, and if you are checking out the highlands, it's well worth the two-night option. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and happy to help with your tour and travel questions. The guests were a mix of young and old, small groups and couples. The atmosphere was warm and inviting; it was a place where you could cosy up in the public parts of the hotel and relax, work or unwind. This place might be my favourite. The location is also near a supermarket and a few petrol/gas stations. We felt really at home here. If you’re doing the Iceland ring road this is the perfect first stop.

Bedroom was comfortable with a good, hot shower. Bed was really good and well needed after a long day exploring. Loved all the little hooks around the room for hanging stuff. (Would have liked a drying room in the hotel for our wet things!) The food options were good as was the bar (if both a little pricey compared to UK prices) Roof terrace was nice to look out over the little town. Bakery and supermarket very close for bits and pieces. Walkable in a few minutes. Would definitely return here. We had a hire car and it was about 45 mins to the airport. On the golden circle though so easy to access all roads to wherever we needed to go.

Love the concept of the property and food hall! The staff is great! And great food choices downstairs. Good location and convenience stores walking distance. The only issue we encountered was that you are not able to control the temperature of your room. You have to open the window to let air in otherwise it can get way too hot. Also take note that housekeeping is extra but free clean towels.

The room was way too hot. The maintenance tech was dispatched to turn down the heat and turned a hot water valve way down. The room stayed hot overnight. The matress on the bed felt like a hammock. The food and staff we very good. The shower water was scolding hot
