Great weekend in Hydra

Easy and stylish choice for Hydra
Publié le 22 avr. 2023 sur HotelsThis hotel is a very easy walk up from the harbor compared to almost any other accommodation at Hydra. The staff is super friendly and make guests feel special. The garden for breakfast is lovely and the rooms are antique/rustic and stylish. Great hotel for enjoying the quiet life of Hydra.

Perfect accommodations, wonderful staff

First, there’s the beautifully appointed rooms with excellent beds (as Americans who like a King-size, plush mattress) and soft linens. The room had a Nespresso machine, water kettle and refrigerator. We always had hot water and great water pressure in the shower and our bathroom. We had beautiful weather, but did turn on the air conditioning at night and it worked well. There’s a smart TV and great WiFi. The hotel’s location was perfect for us - just up the hill so it was away from the harbor noise, but still in the main area for an easy walk to restaurants. Most of all, we think the staff are the stars of this boutique hotel. They were all so friendly and helpful. Matina greeted us with lemonade made from the garden’s lemons and oriented us to the hotel. Michalis, the Operations Manager, greeted us at breakfast and helped us plan a hike for the day. Manola, the breakfast staff was delightful, attentive and accommodating to my gluten and dairy intolerances. Finally, we met owner Maria and she gave us an orientation to the beautiful artwork around the hotel. Our visit to Hydra was absolutely lovely and memorable largely because the Orloff was home for a few days. Thank you to all of the staff who go out of their way to make it special.
