Krysten was the perfect host. The property is newly remodeled and well done. Every aspect of visiting has been considered. There are basics like linens and cookware, but also everything else.... many extra blankets, dishwashing supplies, laundry supplies, etc. She even stocked the house with coffee supplies, olive oil, and shampoo/conditioner, and much more!
The only suggestion that I would give would be to add an indoor mat at each of the doors. Other than that, it was perfect!
As for the location, we were a little leery at first because it is in an older area that appeared a little run down, but the cameras outside and the bright porch lights made us feel quite safe. The area seems to be going through a period of rejuvenation. There were many homes being flipped.
We came into town for a volleyball tournament at the Convention Center/Luca Oil Stadium. It is about a 1/2 hour walk (and it was cold!!) so we just found some $10 lots closer to the location. I look forward to returning next year and seeing all of the improvements that will be finished in the area.
There is a dog park right behind the home. We waited until the day of our trip to decide to bring our dog. Per Krysten was great about the change! Although, to access the dog park, you will need to apply for a code at least a week before your visit. After reading about the park online, they do this to vet dogs (vaccines, etc). Even without access to the dog park, the back yard had plenty of space and there are green areas to walk the dog. It was perfect!
Finally, just one warning, do not lock the deadbolt on the door with the keypad (front door) unless you are in the home. The keypad controls the maid door handle, but not the deadbolt. If you lock the backdoor on your way out and forget that you locked the deadbolt on the front door, you will lock yourself out.
Overall, this was a wonderful property. Our family of four had the perfect stay. We highly recommend!
